…Stephen Gillers, professor of #law at NYU School of Law, says the “danger signs” are if the organization chooses the #attorney for the employee & the worker doesn’t get a say in the matter, or the #lawyer also represents the org itself — which does not appear to be at issue in the #Trump case.

The more potentially perplexing #ConflictOfInterest is one that arises when a lawyer represents multiple #witnesses to a #crime, & one of those individuals subsequently faces #criminal exposure himself.

Woodward is #counsel of record for #Nauta, & for some period of time also #Taveras — it’s unclear if he will continue. Many details in the #SupersedingIndictment leave the strong impression that Taveras is cooperating w/the #SpecialCounsel in some capacity — particularly the evidence surrounding his alleged convos w/ #DeOliveira about the server.

“This is not rocket science,” Gillers said. “You can’t represent a cooperator & someone fighting an #indictment [like Nauta] in the same transaction.”

Trump’s PAC, which began last year with $105M, now has >$4M left in its account after paying tens of millions of $$ in #legal fees for #Trump & his associates.

The dwindling cash reserves… have fallen to such levels that the group has made the highly unusual request of a $60 million #refund of a #donation it had previously sent to a pro-Trump super PAC. This money had been intended for TV commercials to help Trump’s candidacy, but…his most immediate problems appear to be legal, not political.
