“Ignoring COVID” means ignoring equity. Unless governments actually acknowledge that they still need to do much more to mitigate the harms of COVID, millions of people who are higher risk or have Long COVID will never be able to “ignore COVID.” That’s a travesty.

But surely, while we go on being re-infected, even mildly, we're allowing the virus to mutate into ever more variants, causing more problems in countries that are less fortunate?

Which is indeed rather useful in keeping you out of the hospital, but only lowers your chances of developing LC regardless by about 25% give or take...which leaves....the rest of the risk? Nevermind the fact you are going to have to get tested in the first place and be able to know how to actually take the test correctly in order to detect the latest variants in the first place, which the majority of people clearly do NOT know how to do or don't care enough to?
