Proud mum of an autistic kid, juggling work & motherhood. Stuck at home since this ‘mild’ thing called Covid arrived with my high risk family. Thrown into homeschooling as a result. Doodle to de-stress & geek at heart

About to change to husband’s instance. So see you on the other side (hopefully)
My trade deal with local merchants in my town.
Got the vampire child out the door today as overcast & bribed with the promise of his Sunday ice cream when we returned. A slow start turned nicer once he spotted an interesting leaf and grass. Apparently the sky was dripping (we had a few spots of rain but nothing really) so he used a stick and leaves to make a ‘brella’. Hilarious boy. Nice to get out with him though and photos for the grandparents of more than school tasks for a change
is it still doomscrolling when there’s real doom out there or is it just regular scrolling

Same people since 2021, during reported surges: *recoils in horror at sight of mask* Are you siiiiiiiiiiiick?!

Same people since 2021, during perceived lulls: *scoffing and eye-rolling* Are you scaaaaaaaaared?

People in 2021: "We have to learn to live with Covid! It's never going away! Just accept that everyone is going to catch it eventually!"
Same people since 2021: too scared to say the word Covid, pretends every Covid infection is "allergies" and "a bad cold" and "summer flu" and "nasty thing that's going around."

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2022: “breakthrough infection”
2023: “mystery illness”
2024: “summer flu”
Although the point of the story was how nice it was to bump into someone I semi-know, and to be able to sit outside and chat. Felt almost like the before-times. Even if my acquaintance with these people are purely through a silly (addictive) game, it’s human contact with people who don’t give a damn if I mask. And now apparently one who also masks at the store even if it’s cloth
Someone gets it! I see she will be teachable and I can hopefully get her into n95s soon.
