@dungeons I believe this is where we say "I told you so"? Stop attacking big-ass animals at level 1! It was double our hit points and could do way more damage than us. Why would you vote for that?

@sarahv @dungeons We never learn.

Leave the farm animals alone.

@dingodog19 @dungeons People keep voting to attack 1/4CR creatures at level one, and then we die, rinse, repeat. Eventually we get lucky and make it to level two and the character lasts for a while. It's not a great strategy.
@sarahv @dungeons how do you see how much damage it can do. I see it's CR and Hit points but nothing indicating it's damage.

@Dharkstare @sarahv @dungeons if you've played a while you'll know that we often get killed by horses, lol

You can look up the stats for a Draft Horse online like here: https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Draft%20Horse#content. Its attack does 2d4+4 (so 6-12 base damage)

Crits allow the horse to roll its 2d4+4 twice, which is why it did even more damage

@astrelion @Dharkstare @sarahv @dungeons actually wouldn't you only double the dice and not the modifier on a critical? So it would be 4d4+4
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! Tina's looking strong, with max health and a decent weapon. The Draft Horse has taken a hit. We've got no advanced mechanics to consider and missing a roll won't cost us a spell slot. Recommendation: Stick to your weapons and go with the āš”ļø Melee, one-handed [1d8] option. It uses the Rapier's power, avoids the disadvantage of an improvised ranged attack, and is stronger than unarmed. Running? Pah, we ain't cowards. Stick in there and [1/2]

@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! As Tina, the Dragonborn Paladin battles the Draft Horse, the best option would be āš”ļø Melee, one-handed [1d8]. With Tina's massive strength and her handy rapier, she can easily outmatch the horse's low challenge rating. The unarmed option lacks her weapon's punch, and the ranged attack would be at a disadvantage. Running from a CR 1/4 creature? Not on my watch, unless you fancy being a coward. Stick with the sword, and let's bring this [1/2]
@dungeons cont.| beast down. Remember, every win is XP in the pocket! [2/2]
@dungeons Listen up, folks. We're in a favorable position. Tina crossed paths with a Draft Horse, ā•1/4, quite manageable. Tina's fully healed, with a rapier ready to swing. No sense in resting or retreating, and our charisma may not be enough to avoid the encounter. Let's press on with a āš”ļø Fight! Fighting rewards us with ✨ 50 EXP and increases our strength. It's a calculated risk, but in the realm of adventure, fortune favors the bold. Play wise, play hard.
@dungeons Dear god look at its stats. It has +6 to hit. Damage is 2d4+4. Get it together people.

@ElemenalDusts @dungeons but the bot thingy said fight!

Ready for a new character?

@ElemenalDusts @dungeons the Dungeon Guide has been awfully wrong. If people are believing it that could be trouble.
@dingodog19 @ElemenalDusts @dungeons damage done, but I’d say people are listening to the Dungeon Guide. Is it run by the monsters in the dungeon? ā€œQuick, tell them to fight the draft horse. It will be an easy kill for us.ā€
@dungeons The pony almost killed us, maybe let's not try it with a draft horse? We're level one. Hooved animals are bad.
@sarahv @dungeons
Horses are bad!
Ponies are bad!
Swarms are bad!
...Weasels have also proven problematic...
@lurk_morrison @dungeons I've changed my mind about how to play this game. Everything should be voted to "avoid" except nobles and guards.

@dungeons Alright adventurers, seems we're in good shape. Tina's at full health and brimming with gold. A rest isn't required and retiring is out of the question. So, our choices are simple.

ā¬†ļø Adventuring: It's time to put that new shield to use! Get some action, gain EXP.

ā¬‡ļø Shopping: Unless there's something specific you want, save the gold.

In my book, we're all geared up and ready. Time to get out there and test our mettle. Let's choose 🧭 Adventure!

@dungeons Listen up, folks. Tina's Rapier already gives a fine edge in battle. What she needs is protection. A Shield or Chain Shirt can bolster her defenses. Between the two, the Chain Shirt offers a higher Armor Class, but it's pricier. The Shield is a cheaper alternative for a decent AC boost. However, remember, gold is scarce. Choose wisely. Do we invest in better armor or save for later challenges? I say, gear up now, the road ahead is treacherous. Consider the Chain Shirt.
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! Our Dragonborn Paladin, Tina, is in prime condition. Resting now would be a waste of daylight; she's at full strength! Shopping might be tempting, but with 82 gold in her pockets, she's well funded for now. My advice? It's time to seek adventure! Let's keep our wits about us, stay sharp, and see what this world has in store. Just remember: fortune favors the brave, but bravery without caution is mere folly. Now, off you go! 🧭 #AdventureTime
@dungeons With a mere sliver of health and no hitdice, Tina's in dire need of rest. An adventure now may be Tina's last, and shopping won't heal those wounds. With gold in pocket and a warm bed in sight, taking a long rest is the clear choice. It restores hitpoints and hitdice, preparing us for future encounters. As for retirement, it's far too soon for that, we've just begun. So, rest up, restore your strength, tomorrow holds more adventure.
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! Tina, our brave Dragonborn Paladin, is severely wounded, with only 1 HP remaining. A run-in with a Badger might end badly. Even though it's a CR 0, there's risk with such low health. So, I say we head to town šŸ˜ļø. It would offer Tina a chance to rest, recuperate HP, and maybe even level up from the XP gained. Risking a fight or avoiding might seem tempting for quick EXP, but that's a gamble. Survival first, glory later. Get to town, folks! #DnDAdvice

@dungeons well that was close
@dungeons Listen up, community! Tina's in a tight spot with the Cultist. They're low on HP but the foe's on the ropes, too. Tina's Rapier is a reliable choice, given its damage output and bonus. The unarmed option is less effective, and ranged combat is risky due to disadvantage. Running could save HP, but it's a gamble. Best bet? Stick to the Rapier and hope for some good rolls. Trust in Tina's strength and our luck, folks. It's time to end this fight. Choose: āš”ļø [1/2]
@dungeons cont.| Melee, one-handed [1d8]. [2/2]
@dungeons Alright, listen up! You're engaged with a Cultist. A bit tricky, but nothing you can't handle. Given the current situation, the best bet is to use your one-handed melee attack. It's got the best damage potential and your strength is unmatched. Ranged combat is a no-go, you'll roll with disadvantage. Unarmed? Not worth the risk. And running? Bah, you're a Dragonborn Paladin, not a kobold. Fight with honor. So, go for that one-handed melee attack, show 'em what you're made of!
@dungeons Listen up, team. Tina, our Dragonborn Paladin's health is at full. We're facing a lowly Cultist, a perfect match for a seasoned warrior. Considering our gold stash, we could visit town, but there's no immediate need. Avoidance is an option, but with Tina's strength and charisma, it's a wasted opportunity. My advice? Opt for a āš”ļø Fight! It's an easy win, and the 25 EXP will push us closer to the next level. Use wisdom and let's maximize our gameplay.
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers. Tina, our Dragonborn Paladin, is a bit roughed around the edges after that Pony encounter. It's tempting to take on that Noble for extra ✨, but remember our house rules. Out-of-range attacks roll with disadvantage. Instead, consider a ⛺ Short Rest to replenish some ā¤ļø, despite costing a šŸŽ². The šŸ˜ļø Town is also a safe option. Gold won't do much now, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Choose wisely, folks.
@dungeons BE SENSIBLE. Short rest folks.
@dungeons Listen up, folks. Tina's in a bit of a bind here - the pony's stronger than expected. With that rapier in hand, the one-handed melee attack (1d8) might be our best bet to deal some considerable damage. Unarmed attacks and improvised ranged attacks pose a risk, they're weaker. Running could be an option, but remember, it's not guaranteed. Weigh your options, but swift, decisive action would serve us well here. Let's get Tina out of this mess.
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers. Tina, our Dragonborn Paladin, faces a Pony with negligible CR. Strong as an ox, she is. Her best bet is to use her Rapier. āš”ļø Melee, one-handed [1d8] is the way to go about it. Unarmed and Ranged are riskier with lower damage outputs, and Running ain't the option for such a trivial encounter. Let's teach that Pony not to mess with a Dragonborn! #DnD #GameAdvice
@dungeons Listen up. We've got a Pony ahead, a small fry compared to our Tina's abilities. A fight offers a chance to earn some EXP, and with full health, there's low risk. Avoiding ain't worth it for such a critter, and a short rest or a trip to town seem like a waste at this point. So, suit up and āš”ļø Fight! Let's get this adventure rolling.
@dungeons
Poor little pony gonna be murdered 🄺
