This Episode Has Been Superseded

Listen now | We're sending it out in the middle of the night so we don't have to record a third version

@Popehat I liked the amusing aside about (un)helpful IT, and as it turns out today is SysAdmin day
@Popehat
You sounded so exasperated in that intro Ken
@pyperkub @Popehat Does that mean DOJ might have the tapes that Rump wanted deleted??
@pyperkub @Popehat previous sysadmin who left four years ago never documented the setup. classic!
@ronpike @pyperkub @Popehat Pure speculation on my part, of course, but that might be less than surprising given Trump's track record of not paying his bills.
@pyperkub @Popehat It blows my fucking mind that there are actual people in the United States of America in the year two thousand and twenty three with the job title "valet"
@ricci @pyperkub @Popehat
It's more subtle than "co-conspirator" or "accessory."
@pyperkub @Popehat @jpm the only question is whether it's IT being smart, or just IT being IT
@pyperkub @Popehat I heard him say this and thought "I'm not sure if I'm offended or if I feel seen."
@pyperkub @Popehat If you think IT is unhelpful, try asking a lawyer what seems like a straightforward yes or no question about the law.

@pyperkub @Popehat IT guys care about best practices and shit. We ain’t gonna just do shady shit because bossman wants it.

If he wants it that much, he can put it in writing in a signed and dated letter. We ain’t going to jail for someone else’s shit.

@pyperkub @Popehat
IT: β€œDid you try draining the server room and flooding it again?”
@formerlydisgruntled @Popehat the water under the bridge approach... or pool or sea or lake or <glurg, glurg,glurg...>
@Popehat Enjoyed listening. One thing in the podcast that contradicted a lot of what I've been hearing: you allude to a constitutional right to vote, which I've heard isn't actually guaranteed in the constitution. Can you clarify?
@Popehat And as an aside, thanks for leading the way to Mastodon. I finally fully switched. One thing that helped was discovering there are "mirror" accounts (e.g. bird.makeup) that let you follow Twitter accounts and get their tweets in your mastodon feed without actually contributing any interactions back to the garbage dump site. This was a real game changer for me, and might be for your followers' friends too if they've had trouble switching.
@Popehat excellent as usual. Thanks for re-recording
