"I took 1 star reviews of #Barbie from furious men on letterboxd and put them on the posters because it makes the film seem ever cooler."

That last one has to be a guy who doesn't understand why he is so attracted to the Kens.

@HuShuo These are perfect! Some people are so insecure! 😅😅
@HuShuo The lack of Oxford comma in the one review is making my eye twitch.
@LianaBrooks @HuShuo Oxford comma is overrated. Looks cleaner without it, and most cases where Oxford comma helps clarity are contrived

I... I ... I mean...

You're wrong, obviously, but confidently so. I do appreciate the bravado.

@HuShuo I don't think last reviewer understand how cool he makes that movie to sound - Pink acid trip? Confusingly attractive people? Fuck yeah!

@peteriskrisjanis @HuShuo "Alienating, dangerous and perverse", too.

I'm almost starting to feel like watching it.

@FenTiger @HuShuo I think it all boils down to:
Bros: "omg this thing is so feministe agenda and perverse"
Everyone: Really? "start to get really interested into thing"
Bros: "no, not like that" 😅

@peteriskrisjanis @FenTiger @HuShuo

That's pretty much exactly how it went with Fury Road...

@peteriskrisjanis @HuShuo Yup. “Get the Party Started” Pink would approve.
@peteriskrisjanis @HuShuo we should probably tell them to take a bunch of B12 and calm down

@HuShuo

"The pink acid trip" review is the very first time I've actually considered watching this film--which I previously had zero interest in.

Well played.😎 👍

@HuShuo they gotta stop, they're really overselling this movie to me lol
@HuShuo I had not planned to see the movie, but these reviews make me want to see it.
Why Do All These Homosexuals Keep Sucking My Cock?

Look, I’m not a hateful person or anything–I believe we should all live and let live. But lately, I’ve been having a real problem with these homosexuals. You see, just about wherever I go these days, one of them approaches me and starts sucking my cock.

The Onion
@HuShuo this is great. Scaring these kind if entitled, mentally old-white men is a big success.
@Mistresswitchwrites @HuShuo sadly I don’t think it is only OLD white men. Just just MAGA worshiping deplorables. Just saying
@kimhoar thats why I put mentally before it. I have a (former) friend in HER early 30s who I still count as an old white man ...
@HuShuo ok I wasn't going to see this but number 4 has convinced me
@HuShuo @lisamelton this movie sounds awesome, I would love for the feminist agenda to take hold of the world.
@HuShuo that last one with the slapping does make it sound like a movie I want to watch 😝
@HuShuo I want that "They won't be happy until we're all gay" poster.

@HuShuo The brilliant Alexandra Petri of the Washington Post wrote up a fictitious 'conservative' review of the movie.

Satire has such a hard time competing with reality these days!

@HuShuo I just saw it and thought it was fantastically funny, 5 stars from me!
@mbrdev @HuShuo I went to see the movie this afternoon. I think it was brilliant and extremely funny.
@HuShuo
I will be going to see this tomorrow. I hope I don’t get slapped, or…die…

@HuShuo

These are brilliant, but another thing I noticed, oh wow all the bots on Twitter. Most of the comments are pumping a copyright infringing t-shirt using an image stolen off Imgur.

@HuShuo @Kbooki Honestly, I was not really interested in the movie before, but I kinda want to see it now :D
@HuShuo but they all have seen it though? It’s like the angry peeps burning their already paid for Nike shoes. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
@HuShuo my enby kid said it gave them an existential crisis, so good job, Greta!
@HuShuo This is hilarious, I‘m dying!😂🤣😅😜😉
@HuShuo cannot WAIT to see it this friday & the misogynists losing their minds over this film only makes me that much more excited!! 🤩

@HuShuo
Just a general observation, but I'm hoping there's still a place for 'doll culture' with kids. At 72, and a male, I could be a bit off on this, but...

Dolls are a palette for kids. It gives them a starting place for applying imagination, for creating stories from the get-go. It's a great tool for learning not only social constructs, but also expanding imagination, which impacts problem solving. It is a level of involvement that a movie or a video game cannot provide.

In short, dolls can be the bugaboo of conservatives. They unleash imaginative forces that hidebound conservatives find uncomfortable in the extreme.

@HuShuo the official marketing team should use these, like Depeche Mode printed all their worst reviews in their Singles 81-85 compilation.

@HuShuo
I had no interest in this film since I didn't know what it was actually going to be about, but these made me check out the trailer.

Now I actually want to see it. 😅

@HuShuo I'm not really interested in seeing Barbie, but if I thought it was going to be like a "pink acid trip.." then I might change my mind.
@HuShuo is the last one even supposed to be a bad review at all??
@HuShuo That last one sounds like a positive review to me. I too would like to go on a pink acid trip where I'm slapped by confusingly attractive people.
@HuShuo
I wonder when these people will figure out that this kind of nonsense drives MORE people to see the movie?

@HuShuo

This is absolutely hilarious...

@HuShuo Monty Python did this with Life of Brian --they quote the Bishop of Canterbury.
@HuShuo my brain wanted to understand that this was actually what the movie people had done, had taken hatred comments from the internet to advertise the movie, and I was finding it so totally on point that i was sad when i realized it was you making them hahahaha they are great <3
@ChaosReserachParty Credit for the brilliant idea and putting it together go to @[email protected]
@HuShuo That last one actually makes it sound p good

@HuShuo

> That last one has to be a guy who doesn't understand why he is so attracted to the Kens.

As a man happily married to the opposite sex for 18 years, I understand. Gosling looks amazing and they couldn't have picked a better Ken.

@timcharper As a very boringly straight dude, I agree. Gosling is a gorgeous himbo. I haven't seen the movie yet, but frankly all of the Kens look great to me.

@HuShuo I never dreamed that Barbie would become a feminist icon.

This is indeed the weirdest timeline.

@HuShuo

Yes

Proud Reviews

"Movie does not help me get with women people, who are all stupid. It is bad."

@HuShuo "Confusingly attractive people"

That's an interesting term. I should use that more often

@morrigankig @HuShuo Indeed. But for some reason, I can't help but wonder if whoever said that is closeted.
