@knitting today’s update on my #FayeSummerTop: finished my first skein of #SandnesGarn Line yarn! #Knitting looser definitely helped save my hands and made the bobbles look better oddly enough. Only one more bobble repeat after this to finish the back, then I’ll start working the left shoulder and front.
@knitting ended up #knitting for ~five hrs tonight and finished the massive back section, left shoulder, and left front bit of my #FayeSummerTop. I’m letting myself have the faintest sliver of hope that I’ll be able to finish this before I leave for my trip. #memadewardrobe
@knitting day 4 of #knitting my #FayeSummerTop: worked really hard, so I finally have a neck hole! I’m working the front until it’s as long as the back to join in the round. I’m really pleased at how neatly I picked up stitches, but I’m disappointed at how huge a difference there is between my yarn overs between knit stitches compared to the smaller yarn overs between purl and knit stitches. How do I fix that retroactively and/or going forward? 
@knitting day 5 of #knitting my #FayeSummerTop: I can actually put it on now, and it fits exactly as I had planned! I’m so happy I could cry. 
I joined the front and back in the round, and the ease is bang on after I spent so much time doing knitting math to make sure it would fit correctly using different needles and yarn weight than the pattern recommended. It was my first time deviating like that, but I trusted my gauge swatch, math, and most importantly my capabilities/myself, and it totally paid off!

@knitting day 6 of #knitting my #FayeSummerTop: added one repeat of bobbles and cabling, but I didn’t have much time for knitting today. I’m approx. 4 hours into knitting the body with 11 hours to go, then I’ll knit the collar and sleeves. I might actually finish it this week. 
@knitting day 7 of #knitting my #FayeSummerTop: bought 3m of 2mm silicone tubing to use as a stitch holder cord for less than a quarter of the price of those on Etsy. It fits my needles excellently for transferring stitches, but the stitches don’t slide and distribute as evenly and effortlessly as on circular needles, which is why the bottom edge looks a bit wonky today. Also wanted to share a back shot since that’s even longer than the front (intentionally). Loving the drape in the back, but we’re well into my fifth 50g ball of cotton yarn, so it’s starting to get very heavy.
@knitting day 8 of #kntting my #FayeSummerTop: worked on the finishing elements like the collar and sleeves, and I’m so pleased with how neat they turned out. I also love the way Irene Lin designed the wavy flared sleeves. I have such a short torso that I might finish this tomorrow or the day after.

@lookitmychicken it was an absolute labor of love and probably something I’d only ever knit once (at least in cotton), but it was so worth it. I hope you enjoy the process as much as the finished product.

@KarenStrickholm Thank you! I’m so glad to hear you’re loving Irene Lin’s knitwear designs. Her designs aren’t as popular as PetiteKnit or Ozetta, and I think that’s a shame. They’re incredibly elegant and well done.
@lostletters You are educating me so much! I was on Ravelry in the before times, early 2000s. Then I started getting sick(er), and knitting fell away by the early teens. When I came back to Ravelry last year, that whole world had absolutely exploded with new talent and fresh energy. I'm still learning what's what and who's who!
