@vwdasher I only recently learned that the sport quarto is built by sicing together sectioned bodies from two different cars. From the rear bumper to the b-pillar it is an 80 coupe and from b pillar forward is a Quattro.

With only 220~ factory examples built, it is much easier to fabricate one in this manner than it is to buy an original one. There are a couple companies that specialize in building them from scratch now.

What if NSU had that design with a conventional 4-pot engine? Would it have sold and would have sold enough for them to stay independent of Audi - at least for a while!
After the rotary engine recalls are supposed to one of the reasons they sold up.
