@christianselig Truly sad this is how it had to end.
@christianselig will miss the app a lot. Great work and thanks for the memories
@christianselig I almost still don’t believe it tbh
@christianselig I’m using the shit out of Apollo today, just on principle. I’m a PlusUltraProMax user since it was offered.
@christianselig 🫡 I will miss Apollo 🥲❤️
@christianselig I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT REDDIT WON'T BACK DOWN AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR!

*cries*

@christianselig I am so sorry this is happening. To me, Apollo is Reddit.

Despite all this bullshit situation, I hope you’re proud of what you made and every minute people loved using it.

Can’t wait to see what you make next!

@christianselig The “Goodbye” Wallpaper Set button doesn’t work with the latest update.
@christianselig Now what am I going to do? Go outside?
@christianselig 😢️ 😢️ 😢️ 😢️ 😢️

@christianselig So sad.

One of my subs was forcibly reopened today after the old mods were removed, so they’re going through with that too.

The last year has been so horrible for the internet. I’m so sorry how it’s affected small devs like you.

@christianselig So, got any fun weekend plans, then?

Apollo is the best. Always was, always will be. Thanks for putting some much effort into a pleasant way to interface with Reddit.

@christianselig 😭
Thank you for the amazing app experience! It was apart of my daily routine as someone who hardly used Reddit any other way for some time. It will be missed.

Wishing you the best and will be following for any of your future projects!

@christianselig Lots of love from Spain, Apollo has always been the first app in the first row on my first home screen. You did a great job, and no one can take that away.
@christianselig Guess it's my last day of regularly browsing Reddit as well!
Thanks for the hard work over the years!
@christianselig Thanks for the ride. It’s been great. 🫡
@christianselig Good luck with your next adventure!
@christianselig 😭💔 Thank you for this wonderful app, Christian. I still don't quite want to believe this is all really happening - Apollo was such a regular (maybe too regular) part of my life all these years. Wishing you all the best for your future endeavors. It's so terrible and sad this happened to you.
@mergesort @christianselig is this from an actual sunny episode or just something you made/found?
@mergesort @christianselig haha ok nice. I love it. Just started to question my Sunny fan hood because I couldn’t place the episode.

@christianselig My 11 years on #reddit, half of which was almost exclusively through Apollo, has come to an end. My Reddit accounts are gone, but the Apollo icon will still remain on my Home Screen as a reminder of what was..

Thanks for an amazing app, and while #PixelPals is not my cup of tea, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

@christianselig Shouldn’t it be calculated but UTC time? In this case like ~8 hours left
@christianselig 😢R.I.P Apollo and Reddit we hardly knew ye ☹️
@christianselig So long and thanks for all the great times! Paid for the very cool wallpapers and I even got a couple of t-shirts to wear on my Germany vacation in a few days so I hope that helps your situation.

@christianselig Still can't believe how this all turned out. After seeing the way the way this all happened today is the last day Reddit gets any of my time/money.

I hope that the pride for what you created and being able to remove yourself from a toxic situation eventually outweighs the sadness of the whole ordeal.

@christianselig It’s sad to have to say goodbye to this amazing app 🥺 Must be a tough day for you, but we’re all here by your side 🫡 I know that something new and great will come out of your Xcode some day and that it will be a treat to all of us. Until then, thanks for the ride, it was awesome. And to all of you: Please, if you have money to spare, consider buying this Goodbye Apollo Wallpaper package to cover for potential upcoming refunds and in general to support this awesome developer! ☺️

@christianselig Thank you. It's been a good ride. It was the one app I used the most on a daily basis.

Between #Apolloapp and #Tweetbot, it's forced a lot of people to look around for other interesting services (like #Mastodon).

Hopefully, a cautionary tale to all future API providers on how to deal (or not deal) with third-party apps.

@christianselig At least you did the impossible. You got me to quit Reddit.
@christianselig It feels almost weird to morn the end of an app but damn if it wasn’t the best app/software I have ever used. I can’t wait to see what you do next.

@christianselig Is there any way you could offer (some?) of the icons similarly to the wallpapers?

Would love to "donate" a little and use some of the icons as a homescreen icon for other apps (via Shortcuts).

@christianselig So if you just beat Majora’s Mask and make the moon go away, can we keep Apollo?
@christianselig ITS LITERALLY MY BIRTHDAY TODAY 😡
@christianselig I really do want to use the app one last time… but then, I don’t really want to use Reddit. I’m torn. I think tomorrow I will log in using a web browser just to delete my account.
@christianselig Christian, I can’t thank you enough. You are an inspiration for me and many other. You build one of the best apps I ever used and it was one of the reasons I went into IT and app development.
Hope to see more of you in the future. Peace out, Apollo ✌🏼
@christianselig One day ends, another begins. This is the Lemmy/kbin/Fediverse era.
