@davidho Dubai is a hellscape. Adam Something often critiques it in hilarious fashion, along with other urban planning, transport, techbro vaporware. This is the main Dubai one though.

@davidho I have been tryign not to.
It was suggested to me yesterday that I should consider attending for some #Cryosphere outreach stuff this yea rin my capacity as #HorizonEurope project coordinator.
I would really rather not...
Criminal, is anyone complaining?
Whilst there are "Max Burn" folk like that hotelier we have little to no hope.
@adriennelacava @davidho There is a mistake in the picture. One 's' too many.

I find it criminal that no world leaders anywhere are calling for slashing energy use.
Even citizens only focus on calling to eat the rich, while continuing to waste energy left/right themselves.
Humans no longer deserve this planet. π€·
Very flexible. We will be facing unprecedented rates of changes and consequences, some known, most unknown at this time.
Being as self sufficient as possible is vital. Govts across the world already have abandoned their citizens, caring/catering only to the wealthy who have bought them off.
We are truly on our own.
Just being aware, and preparing as best as possible - you are way ahead of the majority of ppl.
Most don't want to acknowledge it, and most of those that do don't want to confront it/act on it.
I'm old, probably won't see the worst of what's to come. I'll still spend the rest of my days doing what I can to not add to the problem (like slashing my own energy consumption) and working where I can to clean up messes locally/supporting those that do so globally.
My only wish is that anything other than humans survive, heal and flourish again, but collective human greed/selfishness/ego are making that highly unlikely. π
As a collapse acceptance member, I don't worry.
I am dismayed that 1) we are destroying the only planet in the known universe that once was thriving/bountiful with biodiversity; and 2) ppl have this cavalier attitude about it, like - oh well, shit happens.
For something so easily preventable.
Collectively, humans really are the worst species ever to inhabit this π.
