@DavidPenington @jerry And I love you for it! Personally I'm just happy the competition is being expanded to be world wide on voting. The next step is expanding the competition to allow for more out-of-europe participants! Seeing all of the cultures represented in music is just wonderful!

@richh has moved@Tattered @jerry oh no, we’re resigned to the fact that the BBC will always enter someone crap, or at best tepidly-competent (Sam Ryder being a 1-in-30-year exception). We *are* outraged that the jury voting shoed in a competent-but-uninspiring winner against the clear wishes of the public. Arguably the “industry favourite” version of blatant political voting (all the Balkan and Scandi countries used to vote for the others in their bloc).
@jerry The EBU is nothing to do with the EU. Technically Egypt, Algeria, Turkey & Tunisia are all entitled to participate too (but generally don’t). Personally, I’m still waiting on Vatican City’s entry!
