The Modos folks sure have worked out some e-Paper sorcery with this display. Seems like it it's good for terminal, documentation, writing, status info, etc. It would also make for a neat display for a cyberdeck type device that would work great outside.

A #scammer who runs a data-harvesting operation under the veneer of pretending to be a free #deedPoll service saw that I'd blogged/vlogged on the topic and asked if I'd link to/endorse them.

Even though I run an actual (ethical, free and open source) deed poll service.

I noticed that the domain name in their email signature wasn't actually registered... so I bought it.

So now... they're linking to and endorsing ME... 🤣 specifically to a blog post I've written about their #scam.

At several stages in my career, I’ve been very fortunate to work with smart and experienced people who have been willing to listen to my ideas and tell me what I misunderstood or didn’t take into account and why they won’t work. I’ve learned a huge amount from this kind of interaction.

I find it immeasurably depressing to realise that there are large numbers of people out there like young me, who are talking to LLMs instead and being told that they are brilliant and their ideas are amazing. All of these people are missing out on the opportunity to learn and are completely unaware of it.
