@scalzi When my mum was playing her flute, her cat would sit outside the room and... well, it was either loud complaining or trying to sing along.
If the latter, she was always a semitone flat. (The cat, not my mum).
@scalzi
Mine too - it might be racial memory of what strings used to be made of?
Don't take it personally, even if the cat does.
@scalzi My cat yells at me while I'm asleep, making me get up to feed it.
I have no sympathy when I wake them.
@scalzi one of my cats bites my ankles (or other nearest body part) whenever i sing.
i keep telling myself that she's just extra-sensitive to high-pitched tones-- and as someone with SPD and hyperacusis myself, i sympathize-- but i can't deny that my feelings are a bit hurt.
my singing is not terrible, i swear!
@scalzi But what if they came back with a set of drums?
Better or worse?
@scalzi
Don't take it personally.
My sister's a wonderful singer. One of their local cats made friends with her; one day, while she was rehearsing, the cat put his paw up to her mouth. Repeatedly. She stopped after the third time, and waited until he was gone. π
While I love cats, they have a very different attitude to music than we do.π
