DNA cabling. This will be the band on a knit hat, but needs to be blocked before I can pick up stitches to make the top. #Knitting #Science
I sincerely hope that's twisting the correct direction, or I'm gonna have to do a lot of ripping.
@WardQNormal No ripping necessary. You got it. Nicely done!
@WardQNormal Just as long as you remembered which ACGT yarns bond to which. Otherwise, mutations in your cables will rapidly emerge over time, or just unravel all together.
@WardQNormal Yup, you got the right right handednes:)
@WardQNormal It’s plumped, like Rosalind Franklin captured it in Photo 51! It’s lovely!
@WardQNormal I wish I could quote tweet this. So cool!

@stevesilberman @WardQNormal

You can! Click the ... menu and share :-)

If you want the author to know, add their tag.

@deirdrebeth must depend on your software -- that option isn't native to the website.

@acm_redfox
On the website under the same 3 dot menu the wording is different, but the option to share is there. Embed doesn't work as a post, just on a website

...unless some servers actively disable it...

@deirdrebeth oh! I honestly never knew what "Embed" was! Thanks!!
@deirdrebeth oops -- this is what that looked like when I used it:
@deirdrebeth "copy link to post gave me the link (which is helpful, because it removes my server prefix) but still not a Quote Tweet look...
@deirdrebeth oh, no, "copy link to post" eventually populated with a preview!
@WardQNormal oh, wow, that looks great 🥰

@WardQNormal I'm in love with this! Now I want a double helix shawl. ☺️🧶

@WardQNormal As a biologist, I love this.
@WardQNormal Would look great on a pair of genes.

@WardQNormal I'm now lusting after the stitching instructions.

*winsome smile of hope*

@WardQNormal Just adding: I have a medical-adjacent science practitioner friend for whom I'm now fantasizing a nice sweater with this...
@WardQNormal @popchicken literally gasped in delight when this crossed my feed 🤩
@WardQNormal well hello kindred spirit knitter - my favourite scarf to knit, from a pattern by @TwoSheep http://www.twosheep.com/helix/
DNA Scarf Pattern

@WardQNormal Will you make this pattern available somewhere? I’m on Ravelry. I would love to incorporate this into a scarf for gifting, probably to a niece. But I also think it might be good for the Foster Care to Success red scarf project. Oh I just love what you’ve done here! Bravo!

@Prainbow Thanks!!

I sketched a chart for it, but I don't have time right now to figure out all of the abbreviations & instructions for a pattern (I don't do enough cabling to know the standard notation!). Once summer's here and my school year is over, I'm hoping to put a pattern up on Ravelry.

In the meantime, if you can make sense of this, here's the chart:

@WardQNormal Very cool! I’m in the middle of a Victorian capelet atm, using some hand dyed bamboo yarn from Thorn Wing Crochet. But I’ll turn my attention back to this gem when I’m done. Maybe you will have had time to put it on Ravelry by then (which this dyslexic would appreciate) but even if not, I’m inspired! 😊
@WardQNormal this is lovely! Sending it to some cool knitters… @erikasmith and @walkyouhome
@WardQNormal I love this! Im going to copy it. Thank you!
@Tatjna look at this awesome #knitting
@j I am tempted by this.
