If what happened in #Tennessee today had happened in France you’d already have millions of people in the streets.

Honest Q: Why do you think millions of people aren’t already in the streets tonight in the US?

There must be protest marches across the U.S. for these two expelled brothers.

@popcornreel we need to be on the streets!
I know students of East High School in Denver, CO have been protesting at their Capitol bldg, too.
Social media is not activism!
The time is ripe!! I’ll say it again!
We must seize this moment!!!

@popcornreel people are afraid of being beaten up by police or held in jail for months on end, losing their jobs and their families. people saw how Occupy Wallstreet and BLM were weakened and turned against the organizers.
@popcornreel
Or for taking away abortion rights. For countless things I’ve asked why we’re not in the streets. When people are inundated with injustices, we’re pulled in different directions. It’s a strategy. So is tying healthcare to a job. It makes people afraid to rock the boat. But when it gets bad enough, with the right leaders, it could happen. Pearson and Jones from Tennessee may be just who we need.
@popcornreel The last time there were millions of people in the streets, Donald Trump and every other Republican called it looting and burning that had to be suppressed, by cavalry charges or black helicopter buzzings or any other means necessary...
@popcornreel Most Americans today don’t even listen to the news let alone give a shit. Same here in Canada.

@popcornreel

The fear of being shot doesn't help I'd wager. In a rational country like France you can go protest outside without the fear of one person with a semi being able to murder multiple people in seconds.

@monkeyben @popcornreel and get away with it. like Kyle Rittenhouse.
@popcornreel Wanted: French Guillotine Operators to instruct hapless Americans.
@popcornreel
It's the guns, isn't it.
@popcornreel we did marches. A ton of them years ago and it didn't change a thing. Our politicians have no souls and are not swayed by things like guilt or conscience. They're barely swayed by ethics rules and actual laws. This country needs to be unplugged and plugged back in. It's broken from deep within.
