The UK has failed.
Failed to reform itself.
Failed to remain in the EU.
Failed to retain its reputation.
Failed to respect international law.
Failed to regard the poor and vulnerable.

It is time for a #RegionsOfEurope 2.0:
The present-day territories of the traditional #Saxon, #Celtic, and #Scottish kingdoms of old could all #Rejoin the #EuropeanUnion, like the trendsetters of #EasternEurope. ;)
Sort of like simultaneously moving the #HadriansWall to enclose all of the #BritishIsles while concurrently eliminating it.
This would also make any #Ulster and #Scottish questions obsolete.
Current status:

I've been saying the same thing for the past few years, and only half jokingly - #heptarchy20. England is ripe for the splitting.
@hesgen
Hi.
If people from such diverse backgrounds arrive at similar conclusions, the idea must have some merit. ๐
Do you really mean England (too) or the #UK?
Would you care to elaborate, I've never heard, #heptarchy20, what does it mean?--Splitting up, as I suggested, the UK in 20 autonomous regions, instead of just the original 7 Anglo-Saxon ones of the #Heptarchy?
England, not the UK. Scotland and Wales will secede from the latter before long.
Heptarchy v2.0.
@hesgen
Ah, yes, I struggle with hashtags and dots, too. Understood.
LOL, so we are very much alligned.
For #Brexit, there was an article for secession.
Was there ever something agreed upon when forming the United Kingdom of GB and N-Ireland?
I assume not for #Ireland, as it was conquered, but how about the other two former kingdoms?
No. The UK does not have a written constitution, and, despite the existence of Scottish and Welsh parliaments, it functions as a unitary state under English dominion.
@hesgen
Yes, I know that there is no constitution.
However, in the #MiddleAges, everything, inheritances of fiefdoms, was done through state contracts. I wonder if there was no such contract.
It's been too long, I would have to really look into it again, how #Wales and #Scotland factually changed hands and became part of the #EnglishCrown's territories.
@HistoPol @hesgen @djm_black There was never an article for secession in any union documents.
Wales was incorporated into England as a titular principality fairly early on, and the Acts of Union for Scotland didnโt include an article for secession.
it has succeeded to be a place that can flaunt international law, remove human rights, ignore the environment, launder money and evade tax.
when the social and health safety net is dismantled they will have a slave race to work their charter cities and free-ports.
it is a libertarians wet dream.
