@AmishSuperModel @augieray Ain't it odd how selectively such folks apply the central word that animates their movement?
It's almost as if 'freedom' isn't a broad fundamental principle but a sort of marketing spin that can be applied, on demand, to justify their basket of deplorable values.
@augieray basically they want for the rich and corporations to be able to whatever they want while micromanaging the rest of the population into virtual slavery.
As long as the Democrats continue licking the boots of corporations though we will not have a true opposition party as third parties are sued off ballots nation wide.
This cannot be shared enough or said enough if we value democracy, freedom of choice or a country that care about all its people.
@augieray
I just realized now that the definition for this phenomenon was invented in 1984, by George Orwell in his [at-the-time] fictitious novel 1984:
Doublethink: the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.
There’s a bit of a difference between the minor contradictions of a Willy Loman and engaging the apparatus of the state to enforce ten major interventions, as listed in the post, and a couple of more listed in the comments.
@augieray @etherdiver Well of course it’s not ironic. They mean it 100%…for the narrow set of people included with the word “you.”
GOP voters want the government to leave them the fuck alone and spend 100% of its time smiting their enemies, and that’s what this tweet promises.
@augieray Strictly considered they're even right:
"GOP" government should be so small, it shouldn't even be found in D.C. & in government.
