Look at the police boats. Met police launch (MP1) as well as the rib, several of which are usually moored at Wapping.
How much has this cost?
The launch would have had to tow the rib to Portland and the police would have to be bussed and, ironically, put up in hotels.

You can see why the Tory Brexiteer tribe is deeply unhappy.
They voted to stop immigration - that's a given.
But I honestly believe they thought they voted in the belief that all the "foreigners", including the UK born ones, would be deported.
Now, there's literally 100s of thousands more, and worse, they're mostly Indian.
To complicate matters, they read and believe the RW rags, so they think they are the majority view.
Boy, are they in for a shock!

No it's not the Westminster blob that has sabotaged the EU Retained Law Bill.
It's universally agreed by almost anyone else, industrialists, retail, travel and hospitality, environmentalists, banking and trade unions...that it's a terrible idea.
Yet the Brexit backbiting continues, demonstrating just how irrelevant the Tories are now.
Bring on the next general election - they will fight each other until the day they are all voted out.

@ChrisMayLA6 Ironic that the republican protest was plausibly *more* successful because of police intervention than it would have been without.

"The monarchist state is anti-democratic" is rather more persuasive when we watch the state break the law to violate rights and silent lawful (symbolic) dissent against monarchy.

Not sure the action could have been better scripted.
