This tweet comes unironically from the GOP, which loves giant defense budgets, wants to regulate women's bodies, wishes to tell schools what they can teach, desires a 1900-mile-long border wall, wants to increase the size of police forces, thinks the government should prevent drag story hours, is trying to track young women's periods, thinks social media companies need more regulation, is banning books from libraries, and is trying to tell doctors what prescriptions they can & can't write.
@augieray DeSantis Promises Florida will Control Disney's Content - New York Intelligencer https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2023/03/desantis-promises-florida-will-control-disney-content.html
@kurtsh @augieray So what would be the impact on Florida if Disney just pulled out altogether?
@frmarty @kurtsh You mean abandon a trillion dollars of investment? The impact would be the board would fire Bob Iger, then continue to operate in Florida.
@augieray @kurtsh I don't mean permanent, but this seems to be a battle shaping up between DeSantis/Florida and Disney, and (in my view) Florida is way more dependent on Disney than Disney is on Florida. Would the Board choose to instead allow their content to be vetoed by the Governor of Florida?
