Don't forget to recycle!
@decolonialatlas going through the bin right now to fish out that darn styrofoam
I know it's not the point of your post, but I wish recycling worked better.

IMO I should be able to easily purchase recycled materials, but when I tried it was like extracting teeth. Nobody does anything. They just move the material around to each other at taxpayer expense, I swear...
@decolonialatlas so many missed assassination opportunities. #MinistryForTheFuture
@decolonialatlas
seems like if somebody shut down an airport after a super bowl it would be very profitable for the city that did it.
@decolonialatlas we are funding the Superbowl for billionaires
@decolonialatlas We have to use paper straws for this
@decolonialatlas yep it’s all our fault for not washing cans enough!
I’m tossing ketchup bottles forever after this why do I have to make up for Silver Spoons’ jets?
@decolonialatlas it looks like 1% of those were accounted for by Elon Musk and Rupert Murdock.
@[email protected] jets are obscene, but private jets are the most obscene. Every gallon of jet fuel burned produces twenty pounds of CO2.
@decolonialatlas but… which was the shortest flight? that’s priceless information. followed by… largest with the least number of passengers.
@decolonialatlas don’t forget to use paper straws!
@decolonialatlas If everyone could afford to get a private jet nobody would complain atm. like u guys dont complain about how many cars went to watching superbowl etc.
@corewill @decolonialatlas Uhoh, don't get me started about cars, will you please?

@corewill @decolonialatlas

... Yes, yes I do. I also complain about the amount of fossil fuels burned to power the stadium and the millions of TVs people use to watch it.

I complain about the massive uptick in cheap plastic garbage that gets produced leading up to it in the form of signs, flags, and hats.

I complain about the environmental impacts of superfluous and needlessly-aggrandized sporting events literally all the time, my wife is sick of hearing about it.

@corewill @decolonialatlas We do actually, the #CarDependency approach USA has taken to stadiums is a disaster.

#Urbanism

@decolonialatlas Time to recycle those jets into metal straws!

@decolonialatlas

Also, try to watch your TV in SD, because FHD leaves a much higher *carbon footprint*

@decolonialatlas I would like to congratulate the entirety of the upper Midwest for having no part in this, be it for strictly environmental reasons, or because no one with a private jet lives there.
@decolonialatlas
Interestingly... Offhand, it seems like most of the flights are either headed comparatively local to the origin point, or headed to red states.

@[email protected] here we are replacing plastic straws with paper ones.

Humanity's priorities are clearly wrong.

@decolonialatlas I'd like to favourite this and add that I'm horrified by the wealth, the waste and worse yet, the climate impact.
@decolonialatlas every plane-symbol on this plot represents an emission event comparable to my annual CO2 emissions. #eattherich

@decolonialatlas Because I understand the theory of constraints, I know that my occasional commercial air travel does not meaningfully impact climate change.

This is ridiculous.

@decolonialatlas And to shutdown your wifi when you go out!

I find big sports events disgusting for several reasons. That they entice people to travel long distances in a non-sustainable (and hence non-ethical) way is a major one of those.

This is an edited re-toot, original was by
@decolonialatlas , but without alt text in the picture.

@corewill: Car travel is also not sustainable, given we are 8e9 people on Earth. I decided against owning a car and do complain about their liberal use.

@yargo
@josh

@decolonialatlas fun fact: a guillotine is highly reusable.
