Ever since Accents got mentioned in Daring Fireball I've been getting emails non-stop, and they're just as you expect.

step 1: subsidize code generation so everyone forgets how to read/write code manually
step 2: many shops fire software dev and IT folks who know how to write code to save money
step 3: now charge 10x to 50x to ensure the AI generated code by that most humans largely can't understand actually works and cause outages
step 4: announce new code fix service that even cost more to fix AI mess
this is like donuts & weight loss/dietitian biz working out of same office

AshtonWhatever efficiency gains I make with AI are immediately wasted by others using AI. What is this paradox?
In software engineering we generally wouldnât subject âvibe codedâ work on others, and self review has existed as a discipline before all this. This doesnât seem to exist in other roles, and throwing slop over the fence for someone else to review is more common.

I just tried to close Music with cmd+q but it just decided not to đ¤ˇââď¸ and it dawned on me: when did we start accepting such sloppy apps that can't even close properly?
Need to hotkey cmd+q into kill -9 and override this terrible behavior.
