How could I not participate in #SuperbOwlSunday .😉

A tiny #PygmyOwl for your enjoyment. These little guys are about the size of a sparrow and are #diurnal #owls rather than #nocturnal.

@NorthWind owls are incredible creatures…we have a couple of great horned owls really close, possibly nesting…love their presence in our woods 🦉
@lemonster1 👍 You are fortunate, they’re incredible birds. In my are of N.California the mating / nesting season has begun! They’re very active right now, making their beautiful “owl songs” almost nightly. ☺️
@NorthWind Neat photo! I want to see a Pygmy Owl so bad.
@NorthWind I thought it was a baby octo owl

@NorthWind

I am watching the SuperbOwl episode tonight!

@NorthWind

I see your Pygmy owl and raise you 1 Burrowing owl. #SuperbOwlSunday

@NorthWind Oh No! and I thought the little Screech Owls were tiny!

@NorthWind it's true we all need to be one world after all we are everyone of us belong to the species known as humans.
@NorthWind I forgot superb owl was a thing. Thank you!! 🦉
@RGbrobot Me too! Since I’m not much of a sports fan, I really used to enjoy it on the bird site as an alternative to watching the game. ☺️ 🦉
@NorthWind it looks like a dandelion
So cute
@NorthWind it would be nice to know if the text was read. Feedback for improvement would also help
@StephenC .. I don’t understand.. what text do you mean?
@NorthWind whoops. Looks like I replied to the wrong post. Sorry. 😳😳😳
@NorthWind the sweetest puff. Be still my ❤️!
@NorthWind what do they eat?
@deevybee NorthernPygmyOwls are the species that live in my area of N. California. They mostly eat voles, mice & occasionally small birds. In summer they also eat large insects including grasshoppers, crickets & beetles. Another interesting fact: to help ward off predators, these tiny owls have special feathers, a pair of false eye spots on back of neck, to help fool attackers into thinking the owl is watching them. ☺️💚
@NorthWind going by its expression, not a Kansas City fan 😉
@NorthWind I can't work out if that's cute or malevolent
@NorthWind she's very angry. Careful for your toes...
@NorthWind Great pic. Who's the photographer?

@NorthWind It was shot by Mark Hryciw. Please credit artists and link your screenshot to one of their accounts.
