I don't understand how they can whitewash history so thoroughly.

One more reason to loudly share banned books.

Way back in 2014 the Koch’s paved the way for private control of Florida colleges. Wasn’t good then, worse now.
Koch Foundation Criticized Again For Influencing Florida State/NPR
@georgetakei Indeed but today education (especially for AP/IB/ College etc) is mainly a business who sometimes does educational things so this is not surprising...
Watch if/when his star dims and suddenly they return everything back to what it was because he isn't making the bank. 🤑
The next logical step is for colleges in more liberal states to not only take up the torch of truth, but to have courses discussing just this failure mode, the fascism and racism behind it, and documenting in great detail the present-day villains behind it. Make sure all educated people know about these *assholes* and the history they're so afraid of.
We love you George. Keep fighting that good fight - we got your back.
After heavy criticism from Gov. Ron DeSantis, the College Board released on Wednesday an official curriculum for its new Advanced Placement course in African American Studies - stripped of much of the subject matter that had angered the governor and other conservatives.

We have a People’s CDC.
Sounds like we need a People’s College Board.

Right now, I don't know who to believe, and I'll reserve any judgement until I learn more.
Today is National Freedom Day! February 1st is the date set aside by a Joint Resolution of Congress ¾ of a century ago to commemorate the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, which was 158 years ago. This day is also often referred to as Emancipation Day. Perhaps one of the best ways to commemorate such an incredible day in our national history is to read the 43 words of the 13th Amendment. Another way to commemorate is to take a moment to reflect on the gravity of the circumstances necessitating such a significant change to our Constitution and join in thanksgiving that these days are behind us. #NationalFreedomDay #DiversityEquityInclusion #MyPurposeIsPeople https://lnkd.in/g8a4gSeZ
If the CB is altering curricular content in response to political pressure, faculty at colleges and universities need to press their administrations to reconsider granting college credit for AP exam scores. The CB isn't going want to jeopardize its grift...
