🏳️🌈🖖🏽Shameful to see the College Board cave to the demands of DeSantis and white supremacists, especially as we kick off Black History Month. Just shameful.
HeatherL@georgetakei We literally just added this class to my campus in Texas. My coworker fought HARD for this class and got a lot of gaslighting and hem-hawing from the district. She is going to be devastated.
@georgetakei My coworker says she's mad but that our state standards for that class are actually more progressive than the AP standards and she's using those to fill in where the AP standards fall short, especially with BLM and more recent movements that conservatives want to dismiss and forget. Also, Texas is the leader in textbook production and a lot of states buy books that contain lessons that DeSantis tried to erase. ❤️ For once, Texas did something right.
