Will SmithIvory is out. It’s the Mastodon client by the folks who made Tweetbot and it’s the best of the first crop of clients I’ve tested if you’re in iOS.

It's paid w/ a subscription. The small team that is Tapbots needs to make money so they can work on the project. They also have the benefit of 10+ years of experience from building one of the very best Twitter clients.
We talk about money with every maintainer on the FOSS Pod, so I get that paid software in FOSS spaces is complicated. You should also tip your instance host if you can.
If you don't want to or can't pay for software, that's fine. But you don't need to tell me about it.

@rklau If you didn't use Tweetbot, you missed out. It's a rare situation where they are great at both anticipating how users want to interact with software and communicating that with visual design. IIRC they invented one of the things we now think of as a core iOS design language (pull to refresh or something equally ubiquitous).

Which, I think we'll see in the months ahead as they pivot to Mastodon development in earnest after Elon shut them out of Twitter so abruptly. 
@vsp I can definitely see some differences/improvements over the official app + Metatext, I'm just unsure how much subscription creep I'm interested in participating in. 😅 Already contributing to my instance on a monthly basis, and I don't know if the extra functionality will drastically improve my Mastodon experience. I DEFINITELY wish the developers all the success in the world, and I'll keep up with their developments as I'm able to.

I mostly just use the web app on Android as well, but this seems like a bit confusing ATM.

David Hepworth@jonathanlee @will I use Toot! as my primary Mastodon app because of its feature set, but I don’t know if I like the UI that much. I think I prefer Woolly’s or tooot’s approach or just the web UI from Mastodon.

Jerimiah Ham@will It’s a subscription? That can fuck right off. Uninstalled without even bothering to try the 7 day crippled trial. I’ll revisit when it’s 5 bucks to purchase. I’ll even pay again for the next major version upgrade in a few years. But get away from me with that subscription BS.
@jerimiah797 They moved to subs for Tweetbot years ago in order to build a sustainable business, given the niche nature of custom clients for social networks. I'm happy to support an indie dev doing great work but I totally understand if you don't want to.
