VICTORY! My partner (also autistic) and I have successfully built a 3D printed circular sock knitting machine, and this weekend I was able to complete the first pair of socks on it! I am so freaking excited!

This is a picture of the machine that we built. Many have asked about where we got the files, and they are available on Thingiverse for free. There is also a redesign available on Printables that I would definitely use if I was starting now.

@KateKayleyFly That is *awesome*! I would totally make one of these, too. (If I had a 3D printer, that is - maybe that's my next hobby.)

What did you use for the needles?

@emery I ordered them from a company called Angora Valley in the US. Kinda pricey once I paid customs on them, but excellent quality.
@KateKayleyFly Nice! I have flatbed machines and they take similar needles, but they're not exactly the same shape.
@emery yes I think there are a couple of machines on Thingiverse that use flatbed needles, but you have to modify them.
@KateKayleyFly yo, did you or your partner post this to YouTube? It cropped up in my feed first! I love it. So glad to see a working one that's printable!
@tinyfluffs we did not post to youtube. I am afraid that is beyond this old lady's capability 🤣
@KateKayleyFly ah okay! I must have seen someone else make the same machine then
@KateKayleyFly cool machine, very cute doggo
