Are you a #coffee drinker or not?
I have never been a coffee drinker, and I know I am in the minority, but I wonder how small (or big) of a group we are.

@annecavicchi Pretty rare day that I don’t have 3 or 4 cups.
@annecavicchi Love coffee but can't handle the caffeine. I have a double espresso cappuccino every morning and that's it.
@kelownagurl @annecavicchi it's a different taste but there is a thing called "cafe d'orzo", which is 'coffee' made from barley. I know of some folk who drink that instead of regular coffee cause it has no caffeine. I like it! Maybe such a thing would interest you
@xyhhx @annecavicchi I've tried a few alternatives but I'm a bit of a coffee snob. I have an espresso machine that makes awesome cappuccinos and that's all I want to drink now. So one a day, it is. :)
@kelownagurl @annecavicchi heh fair enough. In the end, i never got much into it either 😅
@annecavicchi
I like coffee, we have a bean to cup espresso maker - but we only use decaf beans ☕️
@annecavicchi Coffee is the only thing I drink other than water ☕
@annecavicchi I chose other because I only drink it sometimes. 2-3 days a week at most, and usually only a half cup unless I’m getting a latte from a shop. I’m a daily tea-drinker and reserve the coffee for a little boost.
@corbden @annecavicchi Same! Mostly tea, occasional coffee with creamer, mostly decaf.

@annecavicchi

Wait a minute! This poll is skewed to non-drinkers! Tho it might be the caffeine talking.

@annecavicchi I hate the taste of coffee but love the smell of it!

@annecavicchi

Irish Mastodon has found your post: you are not alone.

(Get on it, #MastoDaoine 👆🏼)

@annecavicchi I love it but my stomach has told me in no uncertain terms that it is done with coffee
@annecavicchi i was two or three years old when my great-grandmother sat me on a step ladder at her kitchen table & gave me my very first coffee, poured from the cup into its matching saucer. i've been in love with coffee ever since.
@annecavicchi Coffee is life....I would die without it. Hyperbole? Maybe, but not willing to test it.
@annecavicchi I can only drink coffee in the winter months when it’s cold out, otherwise I sweat too much.

@annecavicchi

Coffee day time. Tea after 4. I love Earl Grey.

@annecavicchi A lot of people find coffee very bitter. That is usually genetic. The same thing for chocolate. I wish I had that bitter chocolate gene because I'm an addict!
@annecavicchi I find tea kinder to my body, so while I do drink some coffee, I prefer tea.
@annecavicchi Heavy coffee drinker. Coffee has a strong association with decreased risk of age-related dementia/Parkinson’s as well as decreased risk from multiple types of cancer, particularly gastrointestinal cancers.
@annecavicchi Coffee is life, but I limit myself to a medium cup in the morning and another one at noon.
@annecavicchi I can’t take coffee (seems it upsets my stomach), so haven’t drunk it since I was a kid.
@annecavicchi I live on it. Best thing ever.
@annecavicchi You do know that even if you might be in the minority, us coffee drinkers still love ya!
@annecavicchi I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was about 30. It does take some getting used to, but it’s mostly finding what you like in coffee. Now I’m in l love with my espresso machine and have a latte every morning.

@annecavicchi Virtual high-five, fellow non-coffee drinker! 🙌

When I was little, I took a sip of my mom's #coffee to see what the deal was with the weird brown drink she always had around.

It scarred me for life.

Since that day almost 40 yrs ago, I've steered clear of coffee, mocha, espresso, latte, and anything else associated with coffee beans. The thousands of #Starbucks stores in the US are wasted on me.

Nothing against coffee drinkers, of course. You're all still great.

@annecavicchi I used to drink so damn much coffee with so much caffeine. Now I use it as a treat. Either way, I just don’t do much caffeine to myself.
@annecavicchi We are the minority, but we have a lot more free time & money- no need for us to complain about headaches or jitteriness or inability to sleep either.

@annecavicchi

I drink tons of tea.

I’ve had coffee twice.

Once in Ecuador when I was exhausted and they assured me that cafe con leche was mostly cream and i wouldn’t notice the coffee. They lied.

Once in Burma when a good friend of my wife’s made us an “American breakfast” and I couldn’t say no. In that case it wasn’t horrible, since Burmese coffee is made with huge amounts of sweetened condensed milk, so it tasted a bit like burnt caramel. But I have no desire to repeat it.

@annecavicchi hard to answer. I didn’t start drinking coffee until it was “hidden” as espresso shots in lattes when I moved to North America. After 8ish years of start I started drinking espressos and then many years after did I start drinking (fussy) coffee. But I still love tea!! (Black & green) 🤷🏻‍♂️

And my wife is 99% tea except the occasional latte for a caffeine boost.

@annecavicchi

I drink coffee but don't like it. I put lots of Cream in it. Two cups a day, 6 ounces.

@annecavicchi I started drinking coffee when I was 5 years old. I’m not about to stop after nearly 50 years.

@annecavicchi I am but I wasn't. I got into drinking coffee at University having been raised as a tea drinker in the UK. The vending machine that sold milk would often run out and I was a long way from anywhere to buy it. Drinking Indian tea black is not great so I started drinking coffee black because it tastes okay without milk.

My wife loves the smell of roasting coffee but doesn't like the taste. She will sometimes drink a mocha and sometimes she drinks coffee ice cream or chocolate.

@annecavicchi Hot chocolate! Every morning, every day.
@annecavicchi I love coffee but can’t do the caffeine right now! So I’m a ‘used to but no longer’ person.
@annecavicchi Both coffee and tea, as the mood strikes me. Always hot and with no cream or sweeteners.
@annecavicchi
I drink only decaf. I've given up caffeine a few times, but the time 8 years ago seems to have stuck. I started roasting my own beans because I was unsatisfied with the decaf available in my area. It was either no good or way too expensive.
@annecavicchi Iced only because I have a mouth with the heat tolerance of a small child.
@annecavicchi I’m a 2-3 double espresso per day kinda guy. I used to drink a lot more, but eventually it started to cause problems with sleep. So there’s that…
@annecavicchi If you’re my age you remember the coffee achiever commercials. that’s what I consider myself 🤣
@annecavicchi so much coffee that if I stopped drinking it the headache is unbearable
@annecavicchi One to two cups daily 😄 Usually no more than that because of the caffeine

@annecavicchi I like to say I don't drink coffee, I drink crimes because I get, like. Exclusively horribly sweet barely any actual coffee frappes from starbucks... or I've argued for the rights of McDonald's iced coffees before, which more Refined coffee ppl tell me Does Not Count. 🤣

My spouse otoh will gladly add as many espresso shots to their coffee as sbux will let them, add half n half, no sweetener, and call that good. (We both make grossed out faces if we try each other's drink. 😂)

@annecavicchi I never drank coffee before I started dating my ex, but she loved coffee so much that I took up drinking it to be able to share it with her, and now the bitter taste reminds me of her, so I avoid coffee at all costs.
@kernsac @annecavicchi I'm not a coffeedrinker but love the smell of it. Bill drinks it.
@annecavicchi I drink decaffeinated coffee, so does that count as a yes or no?
@annecavicchi I often think about this picture when I drink my morning coffee. Different spiderweb designs after scientists gave spiders drugs.
@annecavicchi Two flat whites made in my kitchen every morning. Water for the rest of the day.
@annecavicchi If it tasted as good as it smells I’d definitely be a coffee drinker, but it really doesn’t so it’s just tea for me!
@annecavicchi I might give it another chance. I like tiramisu now so I think my palate has matured.
@annecavicchi
I do, but only socially ;)
My stomach doesn't agree with drinking coffee on multiple consecutive days, so I drink it sometimes, but not regularly at all.
Usually on family events when eating cake, very rarely when I'm tired and need a boost.
