Moving out of Ohio to keep my #TransKid safe and my current employer won't let me take my hybrid job full remote, despite the reason.

Anyone got any full remote #CyberSecurity jobs open? I'm a blue teamer with experience in incident response, endpoint protection, email security, and SIEM engineering. Can probably settle in to #ThreatHunting or #ThreatIntel pretty quickly too!

@hacks4pancakes We're heading to Western Oregon where we have loving family- something we unfortunately don't have here. My spouse is from there and we love it there so I know once we get settled we'll all be pretty happy. :)

@hacks4pancakes I feel terrible about leaving because I want to stay and fight, but ... I'm just so tired. I think of all the families who can't leave places like Texas, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio... and I just want to cry.

They're ghouls, the whole lot of them.

It's usually about guilt when I don't recycle a soda can, but same idea applies here.

@robotfactory @[email protected]— since you are heading to W OR, you might check job openings with Kaiser Permanente IT. Their main offices are in San Francisco Bay Area, but they have remote workers near all of their state business units. I don’t know of any openings, but they were excellent to my spouse as an employee and for me as a customer.

Military terminology doesn't belong in #CyberSecurity. We're computer boopers trying to keep the wrong people from booping them, not going off to war with rifles on our shoulders.

@Modug Last session there was a bill (which didn't make it out of committee yet, thankfully) to ban gender affirming care for minors. In the new session the GOP has said that bill will come back. Also in the works are bills to ban trans kids from sports teams and locker rooms, ignore kids' pronouns, out them to their parents, etc. The state board of education is getting in on it too.

It's just a matter of time until some (or all) of it makes it through. We can't afford to wait. :(

We’re in WA now, but any future move to KS to save on living expenses is unlikely because if democrats ever lose the state house my #TransKid won’t be able to get his meds. I’m not down with that risk. I wish they’d just let us parent.

As a parent of rainbow kids, I’m horrified that anyone politician can try and push those awful agendas. Your trans kid is lucky to have such a wonderful parent!
