Can someone help me find another instance that is a bit more women-friendly and supports women's rights?

I'm being told the type of posts I publish here on Mastodon should be posted under NSFW and so on.

Mas.to isn't the right fit.

If you can boost this post so perhaps someone with a supporting instance can connect with me, I would really appreciate it.

@Ask_aubry @Onemeatball honestly? I’ve been scrolling and scrolling and see nothing that jumps at me being nsfw at all. From a bird’s eye view you don’t seem to break any rules at all.

@Ask_aubry Seriously? That's not cool. I'm sorry people are doing this to you. It seems people are still learning how to be moderators.

I'd offer you an invite to my instance, but it's currently single-user, the boxes are all still only half unpacked, and my clothes are everywhere. Plus, I don't have the reach an account as big as yours would be looking for.

I might second mastodon.lol. @nathan might be able to give you an idea as to whether they'd consider your posts inappropriate or not. Or maybe mstdn.social/mastodon.coffee? @stux might be able to weigh in there.

I'd avoid the nsfw instances though, they are often defederated.

@Prainbow @pburke46 @schmut my entire account is shedding light on bad behaviors and calling out when these things happen because of how often they are dismissed and covered up as if they never happened.

As an activist, I often show uncomfortable things because this is what we need to stand up against.

This account isn't for everyone and everyone has a right to set their own boundaries.

That's the downside of this place. They say instances don't matter, but they obviously do since each one has its own set of rules. I've seen a lot of toots (heh) where the picture is behind the NSFW thing but it turns out to be something mundane - a cat sitting or a sky or a tree. I dunno. This app is bananas.

"Find another server" is not the answer. mas.to needs to pick up it's #moderation game. All general mastodon servers should be supporting content like this.

@Ask_aubry I trust mastodon.world They're hosting important accounts like Auschwitz Memorial. But mas.to seems like a huge red flag to me. With that sort of moderation, I think you're better off migrating to every other server out there. Stay safe and good luck!

@joezahengdu yeah I'm starting to think that too. They literally changed the rules midway so they can continue to keep the warning on me. They even say so in their appeal response that they changed their reasoning.

@Ask_aubry I think there is a way to migrate to another instance and have your followers automatically updated. In other words, we followers don’t need to do anything on our side; we automatically start following you at the new location. It makes switching convenient for everyone (and reduces your hesitation to migrate, as you won’t worry about “losing” anyone).

But my confidence in the accuracy of this is only mediocre. Treat as RUMINT.

'NSFW' is sex-worker exclusionary, and besides, a bit redundant considering the number of people who work from home, or are self employed, or in a situation where viewing lewd content 'at work' is totally fine. We'll be encouraging use of the # Lewd hashtag henceforth when tagging lewd posts, instead of 'nsfw'. :artpaw:

@Ask_aubry I'm going to throw in a recommendation for mastodon.lol as a few others have. While no social media site is inherently safe, I feel safeish on this instance.
