Hobson's choice in truth. Brexit is done and can't now be undone. Making it work as well as possible is the only game in town for the foreseeable, sad to say. Starmer will move us a long way back, but it will take years. Foolish to pretend otherwise.

When all the boats and bridges have been burned down, you are not walking back to anything any day soon, and false optimism butters no parsnips. I am 82 in a few weeks. I do not expect to see us rejoin in my lifetime, and I am an optimist by nature. When we rejoin, it will be a poor imitation of what we had. That is what the bastards have done to all of us. Rose-tinted spectacles don't cut it.. Reality will not bend around our emotions.
