I used to work as a market researcher. One year, we did a study for a major crayon company, interviewing teachers just before the start of school. I was shocked at how much of their own money they spent on classroom supplies. It was well beyond $300.
I'm still mad about the salt loss. It was a direct hit against "blue states". They didn't even try to hide it. Just laughed and said "watch us own the libs". A large portion of America was just fine with it.
As I earned a degree in accounting with an emphasis in taxation, it was drilled into me that--to be deductible--business expenses must be "ordinary, necessary, and not extravagant."
Trump's hush money to a sex worker fails all of these criteria.
Maybe that's why he claimed he couldn't release his taxes because of a long-running audit: I gotta think any auditor worth their pay grade is taking a microscope to these kinds of payoffs (and, hopefully, disqualifying them).
One of the most accurate statements that I've read.
I spent over 1k dollars a year for office supplies alone, sometimes 2k.
Also, the prices of school supplies for students were upwards of $300 so another teacher & I bought items in bulk to sell only at cost - two glue sticks cost $3.50 but in bulk cost 20 cents - but if a student couldn't afford them we gave them one or two of everything - packs of paper and pencils of course and if they needed more later we gave them more.
The students needed them to do assignments.

Probably not a new concept. I’m sure he’s been writing off hookers for years.
How can anybody consider having sex as a business expense??? Makes no sense.
