Must this be reformatted in order to work when uploaded to Mastodon in your settings? Or will Mastodon just find the addresses and follow them automatically?

Great question! Because of this federated stuff, addresses in Mastodon can be confusing. The addresses in the sheet are clickable... BUT, they will take you to the instance version of the account, not your cached version (what???... oh never-mind). What you need to do if you want to follow the account is to copy the address TEXT (right-click copy) then paste the text into your # Explore pane, find the account then follow it.

@mastodonmigration Fedifinder and other apps use this to help you port your follows to Mastodon from Twitter.

These CSV files can be exported from Google Slides, but they have one column of Mastodon usernames on them, typically (column A) and another column (I assume is optional called "show boosts) where all the values are true or false.

You could make a tab in your sheet of only the addresses so we could use your sheet that way. If Mastodon can't extract them from your current one.

@skry asks about adding a tab with addresses only for Mastodon upload.

Good suggestion. Will give it consideration. It might be hard to maintain as the update process is already pretty time consuming. Can you not just copy the column and paste it into a fresh spreadsheet?

@skry Note when you paste the column. Use paste special values only because they are formula derived addresses.
