One of the greatest "How it started/how it's going" examples, EVER.

(via Peter Kafka)

Oh. My. God.
How it's going RIGHT NOW ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️
@edbott I keep saying that we’re gonna get to the point where we realize that Elon musk is just another Elizabeth Holmes. A liar, charlatan & fraud lmao
@maryangelaperna1 @edbott You are right of course. That's if Elizabeth Holmes had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth. I have more respect for her grift because she started with less help. Oh, and that apsrtheid angle of Elons is a little messy.
@edbott Join us for the epic conclusion of, "Let's give him a chance!"
@edbott also a great example of someone I’m unlikely to ever follow 🙂
@edbott Disappointing. I used to consider Graham smart and perceptive. Now I am not even tempted to search for his Johnny handle.
@edbott He’s always my example of the least-tolerant person who believes he’s absolutely tolerant; somebody who likes to claim he can’t have biases when exhibiting them. So this is, oh, beyond perfection.
@glennf @edbott 💯! Oh my God, Glenn put into words exactly the problem with this clown before I could even reply. <stands and applauds>
@glennf @edbott an expert who KNOWS they’re immune to Dunning-Kruger.
@glennf @edbott Do you have any examples of PG doing that?
@edbott
It's now becoming apparent that Musk didn't actually run these companies. Management assembled whole teams to run interference against EM's more irrational and hare-brained schemes, much as Trump's henchmen did. Musk's real talent lay in arbitraging regulatory agencies, playing to Congress, and clawing govt contracts.
@JoeChip @edbott Pardon me, but Elmo's image was known to be a fraud well before (esp. by anyone that's worked with/under him)...
...but all that was sadly drowned out / shouted down by social fanboi-ism, EV fanatics & ignorant armchair libertarians.
...Elmo thought he could control perception like a dictator, so he bought Twitter. 😢
@kurtsh can you link the creator of this video?
@scott Sorry, I don't know who it is. It was passed on to me from someone on TikTok a bit ago & I don't use TikTok so...
@kurtsh Have you worked for him? It’s really lame that it seems like everyone’s focus is on Elon Musk and/or Twitter. Everyone who left Twitter and joined Mastodon did so because they were tired of him. Yet here we are wasting time and energy talking about both. Everyone needs to just move on, the market has provided an alternative so enjoy it. It kind of gives me the vibe of Reddit & Twitter had a baby and Mastodon was born.
@Nastyyy Mastodon empowers you to filter hashtags & keywords like "Elon Musk" or "# Twitter" for just this scenario. Here's a pointer to help you out... enjoy Mastodon! 😁 https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/moderating/
Dealing with unwanted content - Mastodon documentation

Control what you see, for a more comfortable social media experience.

@kurtsh I understand that but that was not my point at all. I don’t have an issue. I’m just watching others have an issue(s). It’s just really silly.
@edbott lol it’s so entertaining to watch
@edbott For the curious: @paulg
@xcud @edbott @paulg thanks, now I can mute him before I see another dumb post.
@edbott he’s been given too much credit for nothing 😉
@edbott
Even with this original comment I hope he starts commenting here. I like a lot of his ideas.
@edbott Incredibly rare in the wild example of Paul Graham Fucking Around then accepting that he has Found Out.
@edbott #ThisAgedWell #LeopardsAteTheirFace Have to love it when the reap what they sow.
Akkoma

@edbott
At least he came to his senses.
@noyes Yes, although it's not exactly like he's joined the resistance.
@edbott Twitter could end up like Tumblr did. Nearly destroyed by idiots. Then WordPress bought it for $3 million, and revived it.
@edbott Twitter is the first company he's actually run.
@edbott wow. I was sure the Silicon Valley VCs would blame users versus Elon for the Twitter collapse…
@edbott still suspending disbelief I see
Btw this is what quote tweets were invented for

Paul Graham (@[email protected])

I haven't "left Twitter." I just don't want to keep using it while it's banning links to other sites. Plus given the way things are going, it seemed like a good time to learn more about Mastodon.

mas.to
@edbott He's a fickle white dude bro. They're almost always hypocritical.
@edbott A month, yikes. There's a few pro-twitter people who were dumping on Mastodon here now. Humble pie is the dish of the day.
@edbott HAHAHA
"Blahblahfingerwagpompousbothsidestalkyouguysthinkyouknowbetterthan... OMGWTFBBQSAUUUCETORCHESANDPITCHFOLKSIMOUTTAHERE!"
...the best hypocrisy is condesending hypocrisy.
@edbott I’ve been in tech since the 90s and have been following Paul Graham for much of it. He very cleverly worked out how to sell shovels in a gold rush, but he is wrong way more often than he is right (of course, this isn’t a problem in VC as long as you manage your ticket size well). I’m not surprised he was bamboozled by Elmo - these guys have been breathing each others farts for years.
@edbott
So sad that @[email protected] isn't a thing.
...
(It isn't, is it?)
@edbott the update is even more 😚 👌
@edbott the final installment -- he's been suspended

@edbott

@Chris

he what? he fired the ones that led Tesla, can't make new car models, let alone a robot, he NEVER led space X, the times he did the rockets broke...

@edbott @cmscy Paul Graham is a notorious tool. This is simply highlighting that fact.
@edbott with a u-turn like that Paul should become a uk politician 😂
