Twitter is now BANNING accounts that post links to other social media platforms. You're no longer even allowed to tweet out what your username is on other sites.

You basically need an attorney to let you know what you can and cannot tweet.

This is unprecedented censorship.

@MeidasTouch So I guess they agree there are limits to freedom of speech, at least we can agree on that now. Now we're just disagreeing on what those limits look like. Clearly they think that encouraging social interactions on non-twitter platforms is up there with inciting violence or something.

@MeidasTouch It's stupid, it's anti-wise, and fascist, but to be consistent it is not censorship.

A reminder that censorship means the government physically tracks you down and arrests you to silence your speech, normally against said government. Non-governmental entities can not censor, per the actual definition.

Better to say, "silenced". Also good to discuss the bias, as no conservative propaganda social media sites appear on their list.

Their "policy" means they will banned accounts created for other network promotion, and not accounts that were there since years and that posted their new address. If (and we know they do) ban people that just posted their new info, then Twitter is at odds with its own policy.
TL;DR: Twitter should ban itself.

I had a feeling when he started blocking links to Mastodon instances this is roughly where things were headed. Between this and pay to supposedly be at the top of the feed with blue, farewell to that nonsense.
