@jbf1755 I look forward to thousands more. And that's all a post had to be. It feels like all the affect and pretentiousness of Twitter was left behind. At least for now. So many here feel like they have had quite enough of all that. Are we growing up?

@jbf1755 long ago, my gf had a cockatiel that was very mild mannered… unless you whistled. then she would screech up a storm. whistling really set her off.

@jbf1755 cut to o’hare airport at 3am a couple days before christmas. we had checked the bird (in a case) on a flight from utah and then somehow missed the plane ourselves. we arrived expecting the bird to be there waiting in the office or something. but… no bird.

@jbf1755 the staff pointed us to the huge area of holiday lost luggage at the end of the terminal… thousands of bags on the bare floor. we spent an hour walking through the rows, whistling all the time in hopes that our bird would start screeching. to no avail.

@jbf1755 heartbroken, we went home.

BUT

we got a call the next day from the baggage folks at midway, chicago’s other airport. they had our bird! i told them to hold the phone next to the case and i whistled. [SCREECH!]

our baby was safe and sound.
