@seb_tmg @gardening @verowellness do you know any open source alternatives that cost less than this click grow kit to diy?
@seb_tmg @gardening @verowellness it looked like it was $200 per shelf at Williams Sonoma
@spacer @gardening @verowellness It's absolutely possible to make something yourself as long as you use food grade materials. The lights are the most expensive part of these kits though. I did soms investigations and decided to wait to buy mine when there was a black Friday deal with 30% off. Then I only paid a tiny bit more than constructing it all myself.
@seb_tmg @gardening @verowellness that's awesome! I've been watching Houcho's on YouTube about hydroponics diy experiments, but his setups are usually bigger. These in-house sets are interesting.
@seb_tmg @gardening @verowellness these are great! I was hoping to try outdoor hoops for lettuces and arugula but now I might rethink that idea.
@jjBlue @seb_tmg @gardening @verowellness I've been doing outdoor arugula just in a basic mulched container with mediocre partial shade in the PNW winter and it's voracious. YMMV
