(To the tune of Two Front Teeth)
All I want for Christmas is some executive functioning skills.

@QueerAutisticNerd formal assessment for me is early January. So I won't have any Pills Of Executive Function from Santa.

@cytokine_storm Ah I hope the assessment goes well!!

I had to stop taking my aderall once I developed ocd, sadly. I’m trying a new one now that the mental health crisis has passed, but idk how much it actually seems to do after the first day or two. Hopefully Santa can give me the right meds.

@QueerAutisticNerd Good luck ❤️

Apparently ADHD meds can bring out some Autistic traits? I have plenty but I'm too disorganised to actually do anything about them right now 😆

@cytokine_storm I’ve not really experienced that? They seem to help my sensory issues if anything. It’s just that stimulant drugs aren’t good for my anxiety. I can’t relax when I’m on them. So I only take them on busy days. But I have anxiety and OCD as well as autism and adhd.

Would not mind a drug that makes me more autistic tho. ~Maximize the autism.~

@cytokine_storm I re read my most and realized it could be misinterpreted as “aderall gave me ocd,” which isn’t what I meant. Ocd often develops either in childhood or in your early 20s and in my case it just happened to develop freshman year of undergrad, and at that point aderall only made the anxiety worse.

@QueerAutisticNerd Oh apologies for misinterepreting!

That's a rough knife's edge you have to walk. I hope you can find a solution somewhere to manage your symptoms ♥ I worry that my anxiety that has resulted from the untreated ADHD won't get in the way of possible treatments.

I was not aware of the nature of OCD so thanks for expanding my world a little bit!

@cytokine_storm no worries! I think it was just the wording on my end.

I know a lot of ADHDers find stimulants have a calming effect, so I feel like if your anxiety stems from adhd then the adhd meds would probably calm that right? Idk I’m not a psychiatrist. But different people react differently to different stuff at different times in their lives. Aderall was great when I had 8 hours of high school! Not so much in college when classes didn’t take up the whole day.

@QueerAutisticNerd haha yeah I've heard that hey. I have no idea how I will respond, coffee has done everything from give me panic attacks to put me to sleep (and everything in between). Hopefully stimulant meds are more consistent.
@cytokine_storm omg I’ve had that same problem with coffee! It’s so weird when the thing you drink to keep you awake puts you to sleep, but definitely better than the panic attacks.
@QueerAutisticNerd Haha I went through a phase a month ago where my morning coffee made me function and my lunchtime coffee put me to sleep! 😅
