Alright, time for a proper intro!

Hello y'all my name is John Mav, an avid learner who flip-flops between being an introvert and an extrovert. I live in šŸŒ²#Seattle / the #pnw but was born and raised in the šŸŒ‰#BayArea, so still getting used to the snow and rain. I live out with my wonderful wife and two šŸ•#dogs.

I'm a huge šŸ’#hockey and šŸ“ˆ#hockeyanalytics geek, love to watch šŸ˜±#scarymovies, love šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³#cooking, #baking, and am a total #foodie. Enjoy playing šŸ§Œ#dnd with friends.

Professionally I am a Sr. Analytics Engineer at šŸš¢#flexport. Previously built the šŸ™#seattlekraken hockey operations data pipelining and warehousing solutions. Prior to that did data infrastructure design for āœļø#hellosign and was a data analytics Engineer at šŸ‘Øā€šŸ«#udacity. Love all things data in general and am currently learning the ins and outs of šŸ¦†#duckdb.

Finally fun fact about me, I played šŸ‰#rugby for 10 years and can still throw a solid back hand pass.

@neeres Try and do a little bit everyday and I used to always encourage students to research further on optics independently via Google. A lot of the topics covered are covered by other free resources well, but it is a matter of knowing what you need to look for. What Nanodegree are you going to be doing?
