I said the same thing and meant it at the time. I reactivated my account to export my followers list, which I managed to do successfully. Now I have to check in on a friend who just lost a spouse and make sure they are okay.
There are a few other house keeping tasks but then my Twitter self will disappear.

@taylorlorenz is there any evidence whatsoever that these people didn't simply make a new account each time one was banned? Because that seems way more likely to me than a bunch of toxic trolls sitting around just waiting for a sympathetic billionaire troll to buy the platform to unban them.

@taylorlorenz good analysis, especially on how it'll affect people in more oppressive countries.

Me, the last straw for me was the reinstatement for the self professed Nazi here (in Christchurch) who was imprisoned for redistributing the 13 March terror attacks, including asking for it to be modified. And he's loving it and using the platform to promote his extreme right political party.
