From tonight. There were clouds. The stone was carved by people about 6000 years ago, and then carved again and placed there by people a hundred years ago.
@neilhimself that was very poetic!! you should try writing sometime!!
@lmouraveloso @neilhimself im assuming this was intended as a joke but its really funny either way
@neilhimself The true backstory of the Kensington Rune Stone.
@neilhimself Do you have to set it on a stand? What is the exposure time?
@ThisMinuteMatters About 4 minutes, on a tripod.
@neilhimself That's not point and click, but it's still pretty accessible.
@neilhimself Looking forward to find out who found it today.
@neilhimself whereabouts? UK or US, at least :)
@neilhimself love the capture! How long was your exposure? The blending of the stars and clouds looks cool 🤗
@nanceh 4 minutes.
@neilhimself oh wow thanks 😊 I love the fact you’re using your phone for it as well. The photos you’ve shared so far genuinely look like they were taken by a DSLR camera 😅
@neilhimself Wow. All I get to see are the lights from traffic and buildings…
@neilhimself The density of stars. The vertical alignment of moon and stone. I find the image heartbreaking and don't know why. #megalith #moon #stars #night #loneliness #humanity
@neilhimself Wow! Spectacular shot!
@neilhimself Wow. Just wow. Thank you for this gorgeous shot!
@neilhimself that is a stunning image, Neil.
@neilhimself Prolly put it back because last time they took it out some ancient demigod or whatever went around eating people and peeing on priests.

@neilhimself

thanks for sharing...so cool.

@neilhimself some of your photos put me in the mind of eldritch scenes of a Lovecraftian tale. I can almost hear the chittering of unspeakable horrors...especially in the picture of that cyclopean structure that stands alone on the event horizon of between the known and that which lies beyond...

Stop me. Please. Really...I have issues. 😀

@neilhimself Some tweaking of the shadow values to get rid of the glow from the city lights.
@neilhimself That is stunning! 😍 Are the stars always that bright where you live? Is that The Isle Skye?
@neilhimself Extraordinary photo! Where were you?
@neilhimself
It's a beautiful sky
@MissyMischief @neilhimself
Hello there, I find your posts interesting! I'm Joey. How are you doing? I hope to hear from you soon. God Bless You.
@neilhimself your phone is amazing and mine might as well be a land line.
@neilhimself uplifting and calming at the same time. Where?
@neilhimself Stardust. The stuff everything and everyone is made of.
@neilhimself That is one eerie image! Where can we find the story of the stone?
@neilhimself Interestingly, I read an article yesterday and this is when Edwin Poots, former FM of NI (and leader of the DUP) believes the world began! Maybe the stone was erected 6000 years ago by the tribe to mark the beginning of the world :-)
@neilhimself , interest placement..!
@neilhimself I'm from Australia, what stone is this, where is it, and if I may, who carved it in antiquity?
@neilhimself Sounds like the opening sentences to a story. ^_^
@neilhimself that’s so beautiful. It’s one shot that sums up our entire existence.
@neilhimself I have a Pixel 6 phone and it's really not capable of taking pictures as good as this one. Maybe it is time to get an iPhone.
@neilhimself Fantastic photo, and also pretty interesting that it was done on a Pixel! Is this Dartmoor?
