Hello Mastodon,

CERT-EU here. We have very recently joined the #fediverse and this is our #introduction.

We are the CERT for all the #EU institutions, bodies, and agencies. If you fancy jargon and acronyms, we also call them EUIBAs.

We were born more than a decade ago. We are considered one of the most mature #cybersecurity incident response teams in the EU. We are a proud member of FIRST, TF-CSIRT, the CSIRTs Network (CNW, where we closely cooperate with all the national and governmental CSIRTs of the EU Member States), the European Government CERTs Group (EGC) and other forums.

We also have a technical agreement with NCIRC β€” our counterpart in NATO β€” to exchange cybersecurity information. And we have a structured cooperation with the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), with whom we work very closely.

You can see us as a Managed Security Service Provider for the EUIBAs, albeit not for a profit. We provide a wide range of services to our constituents, to prevent, detect and respond to cyberattacks.

Our constituents work in all the sectors you can imagine: finance, health, law enforcement, agriculture, gender equality, etc. They are located all over the Union and also outside of the Union. This gives us a unique perspective on the threat landscape, making #cti one of our biggest strengths.

We are located in #brussels. Our governing body is an inter-institutional steering board, currently chaired by Walter Petrucci, the Director-General of Innovation and Technological Support in the European Parliament.

We will be sharing publications such as our guidance documents, monthly cyber briefs, the executive summaries of our quarterly threat landscape reports, security advisories, and blog posts through this account.

In the meantime, we invite you to look at the major cyber events that made the headlines in the ten years since 2011, since we were created…

We are very thankful to @jerry and the team for giving us this space πŸ™πŸΎβ€‹

Thank you and long live the #fediverse! βœŠπŸΎβ€‹

@cert_eu welcome! It’s great to have you here
@jerry Thank you πŸ™πŸ½
@jerry @cert_eu Does this mean they're verified by you?
@asmodai @cert_eu either that or CERT EU has a big email problem on their hands. They are legitimate.
@jerry @cert_eu Thanks! Just making sure since many EU groups are on their own dedicated instance.
@cert_eu welcome, so nice to have you in the community.
@cert_eu is there a reason why you are not hosted on social.network.europa.eu?
@simmac Yes. We were there and we redirected our account here as we want more room for publishing (or Β΄tooting’) than the 500 chars of EU Voice (which is still a pilot at this stage). If this limitation would be removed in the future, we might consider moving back.
@cert_eu thank you! hope they change that, makes it easier to verify official accounts
@simmac you can still go to https://social.network.europa.eu/@cert and see that it redirects here if that helps. We have also used our main email address to join and confirm our account with @jerry

EU Voice
@cert_eu @jerry yep, I checked that after you said it :)
it's just easier to check if the instance domain of a user on the TL claiming to be an EU institution is hosted on an europa.eu instance in general
@cert_eu Welcome CERT-EU! A couple of accounts for you: the Global Cyber Alliance is at @globalcyberalliance and Nonprofit Cyber is at @nonprofitcyber
@cert_eu @jerry Welcome πŸ‘‹β€‹
@cert_eu Cool to see you there! Why not claim a spot on https://social.network.europa.eu ?
EU Voice

EU Voice is the official ActivityPub platform of the EU institutions. With EU Video, it is part of an alternative social media pilot proposed and provided by the European Data Protection Supervisor.

@lertsenem Thank you.

You may check our now inactive account there at:

EU Voice
@cert_eu Nice, I did not realize this was a migration. Welcome!
@cert_eu @lertsenem You could add the link to your old home on your new account. Then when people click it they would see the redirect - which would confirm your identity.
@mortentoudahl @lertsenem Done. Thx for the suggestion πŸ‘ŒπŸ½
@cert_eu @jerry Welcome! Fantastic to see you here.
@cert_eu @jerry why not use the official EU mastodon? https://social.network.europa.eu/about -- would make it a more legit home server?

Infosec Exchange
@jerry @cert_eu ah ok. Guess it just makes more sense to have all under the EU umbrella at the same location. Easier to trust and find. But what do I know πŸ˜…
@yeri @cert_eu Yes, that is what they should do
@cert_eu @jerry This #introduction is an acronym celebration and I love it.

@cert_eu @jerry welcome. My team (CERT.at) is on ioc.exchange. We have our well established direct connections anyway.

Yes, more official CSIRT accounts would be welcome here.

@cert_eu but can you verify yourself through your website though?
@cert_eu @jerry welcome @CERT-EU , I was waiting for you.
