David BindelJoined in May, but no #introduction yet, so here goes. I am a #prof at #cornell in #CS, working on scientific computing (numerical methods for #data science, formal verification of numerics, and #plasma #physics for #fusion, lately). I also run our Center for Applied #Math, and am associate dean for #DEI in the college. Otherwise, I collect #fountainpens and punny shirts, play with our #rabbits (and with my kids), sometimes read #scifi and #fantasy. And I like to #code (lots of #julia)!
(Also: #coffee, #tea, #books, and more #books. #linearalgebra, #eigenvalues, #optimization, etc. All sorts of #science, whether I'm doing it or something else. And #engineering - like #math, but louder, per a t-shirt that my brother likes to wear.)
