There's no room in my life for another social media platform. I think I might start some kind of rotation. Mondays are Mastodon, Tuesdays are Twitter, Weds are Discord, Thurs is Reddit, Fri is Facebook, Sat is LinkedIn, Sun is Instagram.
@jackrhysider Maybe drop Facebook for a day off ;)
@m0lenaar @jackrhysider is facebook still going…?
@chakkerz who am I kidding I haven't logged into facebook for 2 years now.
@jackrhysider @chakkerz Facebook is a birthday reminder platform and nothing more.
@iggdawg @jackrhysider yes, i recently realised that i had replaced it with my address book that integrates with my calendar :P
@jackrhysider you need like a super all in one app to post and gather feeds.
@Pits @jackrhysider woah easy there, that's almost a sales pitch
@jackrhysider Cancel Twitter Tuesday and maybe treat yourself with some Tinder Tuesday instead 🤖
@jackrhysider You may have Tuesdays free very soon.
@jackrhysider why do you even use all of these platforms? I might get the business point, but that‘s another thing. There is no need to really „use“ a platform for business. For personal use, try to focus on platforms which give you something in return.
@jackrhysider I feel like there are even odds you might have Tuesdays free at some point...

@jackrhysider I get using multiple platforms for creators, but that can all be automated.

Consuming content on most SM is tedious as fuck and a huge productivity drain. That's why I kicked most of my profiles to the kerb, but wam giving here a chance...so far, my timeline seems to be 75% focused and healthy.

@jackrhysider
There is a client that will Tweet and Toot simultaneously. Can't recall which but won't be hard to find. That's a two in one.

Your mileage on different platforms will surely play a part in how you prioritise Jack. I'm guessing they all play different roles in sourcing, producing, and promoting DarkNet Diaries, and perhaps in other work.

I'll continue to repost your work on Twitter for as long as I remain active, or the site does. I'll also do that here. I used to be a patron yet now struggling, so the best support I can offer is to promote your great storytelling, and regularly will.

Best wishes working it out.

@jackrhysider maybe swap in Pixelfed for that Insta fix? :) not a user of either but like seeing those moves to more decentralized services.
@jackrhysider I recommend fasting one day. No socials. Go for a (longer) walk, read some books. Schedule a gap
@jackrhysider Nah, create demand and exclusivity by ditching them all except the 'Don.
@jackrhysider this is so freaking brilliant actually lol
@jackrhysider i like that you alliterates where possible with mastadon, Twitter, and facebook
@jackrhysider someone should make aggregate them all into a single app so you don’t have to choose.
@jackrhysider when is another Darknet Diaries episode releasing on Apple Podcasts?
@jackrhysider Well, come July, you'll probably want to drop Reddit anyway. You'll have a day off! :D

@jackrhysider

I can't bare the user experience in reddit without a 3rd party app, so I really hope you continue to post here.

Thanks for all the good content!

@m4rkf I need a reddit replacement myself
@jackrhysider @m4rkf Hes alive! Id follow a darknet diaries community on #lemmy its not a 100% replacement, but so far its doing its job well enough. Just need my niche communities to move over lol

@bonealisa @jackrhysider

Alive he is! I'm enjoying the return of #darknetdiaries for sure

@jackrhysider
I hear that. I've been using a 3rd party app for it for a while, but not sure where that's going to land after all this dust regarding their restricting access to them these days, which is what led me here.

I've seen people split on Lemmy, but I do not know much about it yet.

@m4rkf @jackrhysider squabbles is growing pretty quickly. Very early reddit vibes right now, not sure on backend security/data privacy

@Trude @jackrhysider
Thanks!
I found something close to my old reddit communities on readit.buzz, so I signed up there. I think it's awesome that you can interact with that type of thing from everywhere in the fediverse.

I'm also not sure about security or data privacy on these things, so I am proceeding with the as much caution as I can.

@jackrhysider @m4rkf right now I've been settling in on both Lemmy (Beehaw.org instance) and Kbin, and am going to be evaluating both to see which one I prefer later on. If you do end up creatikg (or supporting) a fediverse DND community, please let us know here.

@coldblade2000 @jackrhysider

Thanks for sharing, I'll check those out too. I'm very new to this fediverse thing, and have lots of learning to do. I do not fully understand how the concept subredits translates over to a fediverse where each instance is already it's own community.

Feel free to explain please 😀

@m4rkf @jackrhysider oof same here. Best analogy I've seen is like email. Whichever instance you go for, they can interact with other instances. However, your account belongs to a particular instance, like how you have to login in Gmail if you have a Gmail, you can't just login from Protonmail with a Gmail account.

This might help a bit https://beehaw.org/post/500098

I put together a guide aimed at Redditors for Kbin and Lemmy! - Beehaw

I want to preface, if you see a mistake in the image or have something helpful to add, go right ahead! I still have the layered files for this, so edits can be made very quickly. I chose to handwrite the text to avoid font copyright infringement. Feel free to share this poster as you wish, especially on Reddit. All I ask is that you respect the license and don’t remove my socials at the bottom. If anyone’s addition is included, I’ll credit them, and if this gets added onto (or translated) by someone else later, they can add their info as well. I hope someone can find it useful with the subreddit blackouts right around the corner. I want to thank the Beehaw admins so much for their amazing work!

@coldblade2000 @jackrhysider
Nice quick start guide. Definitely fills in some gaps.

Thanks!

@jackrhysider Saturday is LinkedIn? Bold choice
