Alright, time for a quick #introduction.

I'm Evan. I'm a #PhD candidate at #ucberkeley, working to understand #battery #electrochemistry using #compchem methods. I contribute a bit to #opensource projects related to #chemistry. I'm passionate about #highered #teaching and #mentorship.

Mostly here for professional reasons - will post #preprint and other #research updates. That said, I'm #queer and #nonbinary and would love some #LGBTQ community here. I write #poetry, and I love #tea and #wine.

@ewcspottesmith Do you mind sharing what #opensource #chemistry projects you contribute to?

I have a B.S in Chemistry but ended up going into a different line of work. I've been looking for a way to get more involved with chemistry again.

Thanks and have a good time here, so far it's been pretty welcoming and interesting.

@mfjurbala I work on a few of the #MaterialsProject codes (https://github.com/materialsproject) - pymatgen, atomate, and emmet. I've also been working with an undergrad on a Monte Carlo code called RNMC (https://github.com/BlauGroup/RNMC).

@ewcspottesmith thanks for the links, I've been out of the game for long enough that that's all over my head but maybe I'll see if I can make sense of some of it.
