Putting Tactical Voting aside for the purpose of this poll, which Party will you be voting for at the next General Election?
Please vote, comment, and BOOST for a more representative survey.

Please accept my apologies for not including Plaid Cymru, particularly to my Welsh friends here.
@Ted You've also excluded NI, which has 18 Westminster constituencies.
@rodgerkibble Ah, very true. Again, apologies, but I don't think there are enough space options on a #mastodon poll to include all.
@Ted @rodgerkibble that's why Monster Raving Looney Party got left off as well then?
Hear there is a social media site that only allows 4 options for polls 🤷‍♂️
How dark ages is that???
Well, the first conclusion one can draw from this is that there ain’t many Tories here.
@Ted
And it is without doubt a wonderful thing. Let's hope it stays that way 🙂
@Ted only because autocorrect keeps preventing them from typing Mastodon.
@Ted Mastodon is a beautific Twitter afterlife.
@Ted Maybe there ain't many Tories voters left anywhere? 🤔
@Ted or are not identifying themselves.
@Ted I'm not missing them.
@Ted I don’t find the lack of people with a right wing persuasion here troubling. What bothers me is the lack of politicians who have come over. This may change by the end of the week but atm it doesn’t look like they’re than interested in talking to us. #ukpolitics
@Ted I will be voting Plaid Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
@glandwrwj Oops. Apologies for my unforgivable omission.
@Ted no problem, happens all the time 😅🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
@glandwrwj @Ted tell me about it 😂 I'm at u I I am one of the very few Welsh students we have at least at this campus, yet any time I mention student finance or disabled students allowance I'm always directed to Student Finance England 🤦🏻‍♀️
@Ted I don't think I can discount a tactical vote in the next election in my area, I'm down for the most likely to get this lot out.
@fitzbunwaller Me too, but this is more about political bias here on #mastodon, not the issue of getting the Tories out.
#TacticalVoting will be essential when it comes to it. I am a member of the Labour Party but have no other option than to vote LibDems where I live.
@Ted I'll be voting Labour, simply because there isn't any other party I *can* vote for that represents me best- I'd vote for the Scottish greens If I could, but I vote in England, so it'd be the E&W Greens, but they have several positions I heavily disagree with. I also heavily disagree with Starmer and the like, but I I do more closely align with the left of the Party (even though he is trying to purge them!), so... best of a bad bunch, basically.
@Ted Further to this, my vote goes to a Tory safe seat (Eddisbury), so if we have any hope in getting them out here, it has to be Labour. Sucks, but there's not much for me to do about it (gotta get rid of FPTP!)
@fcrosbie @Ted I will vote for whoever has the best chance of getting the Tory out. Our FPTP system is so limiting
@fcrosbie @Ted I'd be interested to hear the positions of the Greens you disagree heavily with? And no I genuinely have no idea what they could be? So I suppose I'm being lazy in asking. All the best.
@Ted @vfrmedia Tactical aside is unfortunately very different from my actual vote because our voting system is terrible. 😭
@Ted I'd actually vote anything and anyone get the Tories out, but I'd like to see Labour, green and Lib Dems join forces. I clocked Labour on this poll.
@Ted LD did about 3 times the numbers of Labour last time in this constituency, and they are probably the only contenders to oust the Tories next time, so there isn't much choice but tactical voting hereabouts. A pity but that's FPTP for you.
@Ted survey’s not complete but feels like a Tory free poll so far. Pity the actual elections ain’t like this 🤣
@Ted only having German nationality sadly I can only vote in local elections.
@Ted I said Labour because I’ll be voting tactically. 🔶
@Ted SNP member but vote in England so it will be green.
@Ted I have a green MP Caroline Lucus and I don’t trust Labour now
@Ted I'll be tactical voting. Our constituency is going to be dissolved so I don't know what that means for us. I would like to vote Labour or Green.
@Ted I'm torn, I'm an ex Labour member who doesn't want to vote for Keir but feel I may not have a choice and have to hold my nose. But then I live in a true blue borough where the lib dems are who we have to vote for tactically. Our MP is Kwasi Kwarteng 🤦🏼‍♀️
@Ted not sure who I will vote, except I know it won't be Tory.
@Ted would like to vote Green, will ultimately vote for what's most like to get rid of the Tories (probably Labour in my area), unfortunately it's been a safe Tory seat for quite a while
@Ted I’m a green socialist, Green Party is my first choice, but I will vote for whoever will unseat my local Tory next vote and I hope one day for Proportional Representation so I can actually vote for who I want to represent me.
@jengovey I get that, but not the point of my poll.
@[email protected]'m I live in a very Tory area and will vote tactically to try and topple them. Anything else would be a wasted vote at this stage.
@johnleonard Me too, but not the point of the poll. I wanted to discover the political preference of those here. If you read my profile, you will see I’m in the same boat as you.
@Ted Ah OK - I voted my preference anyway, not who I will probably end up voting for
@Ted in an ideal world if it counted in a PR system, I would probably vote Lib Dem or green right now. I am not entirely happy with the current labour stance on relationships with the EU. However I am realistic and just want to make sure these awful Tories lose and will vote accordingly in my local constituency.

@Ted Hang on a sec—tactical voting is literally all there is in an FPTP system!

So isn't your question really, "In an imaginary world, where you could vote for what you believed in, how would you vote?"

But in that imaginary world, the parties would be constituted quite differently. Both the Tory and Labour Parties would probably be two or more smaller parties that would tend to act in concert.

I contend that you can only ask, "In the world as it is, all things considered, how will you vote?"

@Ted Green probably closest, although if there was an explicitly socialist option, I’d pick that. In real life I’ll vote tactically though.
@Ted However I live in a solid Tory seat since forever so will have to employ Tactical Voting
@Ted as a Labour member, I vote Labour
@Ted member of the Green Party but open to tactical voting to get the Tory out wherever possible. They are a pestilence on society.

@Ted You might want to add: Please, only UK people.

Cause else I'd just tap in with "Green", as a citizen of Germany ^^
