I’m not too sure

Is there an age or year of your life you would re-live? Like many others (or so I imagine) I would readily go back in time to visit my younger self. However, having said that I wouldn’t wish to relive those parts of my life again, but rather gently counsel and influence how I saw myself, others, and perceived life. I would whisper words of encouragement, trying to remove the shackles of anxiety, perfectionism, low self esteem and the effects of trauma.

What historical event fascinates you the most? Again this type of question is too substantive to answer with a simple response. I’m fascinated by both modern and ancient history. Moreover, I’m fascinated by the vast number of historical events which could easily serve as lessons in humanity. That is historical events which could easily help shape contemporary society’s understanding of humanity, and influence thought and actions, contributing to positive change.

A kid at heart …

What does it mean to be a kid at heart? It means being able to readily summon feelings and experiences of joy. It means allowing myself to live in the moment and embrace a sense of awe and wonder. At its very core it allows me to be both grounded and an untethered balloon at the same time. My inner child keeps my ego at bay, and is the source of my compassion and intuition. She’s my fierce little warrior that successfully got me through some very traumatic events.

You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for? Firstly I’d ask for ………. Secondly I’d ask for …….. Thirdly I’d ask for …….. To be honest if there was a 4th wish I’d wish for more time to get the wishes right. Until then I’m going to daydream.

Describe a family member. As the 8th child of 10 kids (I’m the 3rd youngest) my immediate family truly served and continues to serve as a tiny microcosm of society. You name it, we’ve got it! The personality types, traits … from the good, the bad and the very very ugly. Suffice it to say that amongst the lot of my siblings, there is one that is fiercely loyal, loving and authentic.

Good question

What is your favorite form of physical exercise? Definitely swimming (I’m actually sitting in my magnesium mineral backyard pool right now as I write this) I also love gardening (which I’ve just done two hours of, including repotting tomatoes and some other plants). Yes, it’s only spring but the weathers been good enough to swim already. I love bushwalking, but snakes are too active at present, so I’m reluctant to venture far into the bush.

How much would I pay to visit the moon?

How much would you pay to go to the moon? Zero, zip, zilch. In other words, nada! This question reminds me of the novel ‘Feed’ by M.T Anderson, which explores issues of consumerism (plus much more). In the novel society travels to the moon, as it’s become a rich person’s holiday destination. Yet, just like earth, the moon ends up becoming polluted and disrespected by humanity’s greed, ignorance and insatiable appetite for something new and exciting.

I’m seriously considering…

What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in? I’m seriously contemplating an alternate career involving full time writing and photography. The only problem is that it doesn’t provide the financial freedoms and safety that my current career does. Given that I am a parent and have a mortgage, I’m somewhat hemmed in. Hence, I write and am a photographer in my spare time.
