But afterwards they never acknowledge those borrowed votes. They claim their policies were really the voters choice.

Never trust a Tory, or any party that enters into a cosy coalition with them, like Labour councils across the country.

Returning to the implications of the Green Party of England & Wales winning the Gorton & Denton by-election, @sjwrenlewis offers an interesting (but also perhaps worrying) analysis of what this means for the necessary tactical voting to defeat the Right in at the next general election.

One thing that makes me very happy about the Gorton & Denton by-election result is it shows that claiming you have to vote tactically for Labour if you want to keep Reform out is bollocks. This was one of the safest Labour seats in the country, and the Greens still won it.

If you want to keep Reform out, then the message is clear: vote Green. That way you even get a party with policies that are different from Reform.
