Here it is, the final poll to rename #IrishTwitter as we seek shelter on the welcoming plains of @mastodonie . These options are the winners of our 3 previous heats. I acknowledge the later suggestions that came through - some of them weren't different enough to warrant a new heat, some were exceptionally niche, all were appreciated.

RESULT! There was never really any doubt but nearly 600 of you had your say so it looks like we can legitimately use #MastoDaoine from now on to locate the arrivals from #IrishTwitter.

@Sharkastic @betaburns It wasn't so much intended as a joke as a play on the similarity of how #Mastodon and #MastoDaoine sound.
Also, @shivers has pointed out that it also sounds like #MeasDoDhaoine, which roughly translates as "respect for people".
So it's got a couple of nice little rings to it that seemed to work for eh, people!
