You need quotes for the newline, but not the ampersand. That just needs some escape. (Tested in ksh as well.)

Nathan Bottomley@overcastfm Hey, Marco. I have a problem with an ampersand in a CDATA section in my feed. Both when it's encoded as "&" and when it's just a plain "&", it appears as "&" on the shownotes page, but as an entity (&) in the podcast list.
