@ascentale @skyfaller #BikeNite A5. I’d go for an antique Raleigh with a Sturmey 3 speed and rim brakes. I have one from the early 1970s that rides like a dream. I love that it has actual bolts - nothing metric anywhere so you don’t need special tools. For a modern city bike, I’d get a Dutch omafiets from #Workcycles. You can pick your drivetrain (but no belt drive yet). They’re incredibly well made with stainless steel everywhere so rust is unlikely to be a problem.
PeteI got hold of this #workcycles #fr8 a few weeks ago. It's great, with some strong reservations. It came with the super upright Dutch bike setup, which was just so uncomfortable, for both my partner and I. This ridiculous setup is much better, even though the bars and box are kinda trying to occupy the same space. It's an absolute slug but a rock solid one.
@Andres4NY My bikes live outdoors year round so I’m used to stuff failing. The charge indicators on the Hailong battery case stopped working about six months ago and I lost a lot of display pixels at about the same time. The only electronics that have survived multiple winters are my Busch + Muller bike lights (I have those on both my #Cetma and #Workcycles bikes). #WinterBiking #WinterCycling

@ascentale @bikenut A4: I love front baskets that are attached to the frame. If they’re attached to the handlebars, they are awful for steering if you actually try to put anything in it. My #Workcycles FR8 has a front frame mounted rack with a big crate on it. Most bikes here have rear rack mounted baskets. #BikeNite
